How to sound smart in your TEDx Talk | Will Stephen | TEDxNewYork

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences.

In a hilarious talk capping off a day of new ideas at TEDxNewYork, professional funny person Will Stephen shows foolproof presentation skills to make you sound brilliant -- even if you are literally saying nothing. (Full disclosure: This talk is brought to you by two TED staffers, who have watched a LOT of TED Talks.)

YouTube REWIND 2020 - Travel During Covid & Finding Safety in New Zealand | 3 Kids - 197 Countries

Join us as we rewind 2020 and look back at the moments that inspired us and changed us in a year unlike any other.

Starting with an epic over the water bungalow stay in the Maldives and ending in New Zealand, the safest covid free country, we are extremely thankful and count our blessings for a year most of the world would rather forget.

From the Maldives we traveled to Sri Lanka, Thailand and Cambodia experiencing a wealth of new cultures, religions, languages and food. We went to Angkor Wat, considered to be the 8th wonder of the world and marveled at the beautiful ancient temples.

The virus in China was starting to spread around the globe and at this point we were suddenly faced with the decision of where to go next.

Originally we had planned to visit New Zealand in the spring and reconnect with our friends from Rotorua that we met in Nicaragua back in 2018.

We decided if we were going to go, we would have to move fast as flights were starting to be canceled and borders were slowly closing. Little did we know that New Zealand was going to be called our home for the next 9 months!

We arrived in Christchurch and just a week later, on route to Queenstown, the government announced that the country was going into lockdown. We ended up staying in Queenstown for 7 weeks and as a result of a fast and firm decision to close the borders the country reopened COVID free. Even now the border remains closed and the only way to enter is with a mandatory hotel quarantine for two weeks on arrival.

Living life like it was 2019, we took advantage of the unique opportunity of being here to start exploring and discovering the beauty of the country. After visiting Milford Sound, another epic wonder of the world, we headed north to Wanaka and continued on switching homes every 2 weeks or so. We were able to visit Tekapo, Picton, Blenheim, Kaiteriteri, Collingwood, Nelson, Westport, Hokitika and the whole west coast. Basically everywhere except for Dunedin and Stewart Island.

From there we took the ferry and crossed over to Wellington starting the journey of discovering the whole North Island. We went from Wellington to Napier and Gisborne, then over to Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupo and New Plymouth. Next was Auckland, the Coromandel and Northland including Whangarei, Paihia, the Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga - the furthest point north we could go.

We’ve been so blessed to be here this long and can't wait to share the videos we have filmed with you.

In the comments below, let us know what you are most looking forward to in 2021!

Happy New Year to you all! Wishing 2021 to be a blessed year full of joy, peace and happiness!

With love,
Tyler, Chantal, Julia, Angelique and Chloe
