Have you ever heard about something that is unexplained? There are a lot of bizarre things in the world such as animals raining from the sky, or weird unexplained heat anomalies found inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. Sometimes the answer is found, and sometimes these things remain a mystery that science cannot explain. Check out these 10 Natural Phenomena that Science Can’t Explain.

10. Mammatus clouds – which means mammary cloud, is a cellular pattern of pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud, these are typically heavy cumulonimbus rainclouds. Mammatus are most often associated with severe weather, and they can appear before or after a storm.

9. 'Heat anomaly' found in Great Pyramid of Giza – Scientists have been studying the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and have found strange heat signatures that have no explanation.

8. Oakville Blobs - On August 7, 1994 during a rainstorm, blobs of translucent gelatinous substance fell in the town of Oakville, Washington. Several attempts were made to identify the blobs.

7. Lake Hillier, Australia - Australia is the home of unusual ‘pink lakes’. Lake Hillier is one of them. Located on Middle Island, this body of water is famous for it’s remarkable bubble gum pink color. 600 meters long and surrounded by a rim of sand and thick woods of eucalyptus trees, this pink lake still surprises and intrigues scientists.

6. Socotra Island, Yemen - Want to feel like you’re visiting another planet? Check out Socotra Island off the coast of Yemen. It has been called the most alien-looking place on Earth, and a ‘lost world’ because the heat and drought conditions of the island have produced around 800 rare species of flora and fauna, and a third of those can’t be seen anywhere else on the planet.

5. Kelimutu, Indonesia - Mount Kelimutu is a volcano in Flores, Indonesia. The mountain has three volcanic crater lakes that vary colors from each other at different times, making them surreal and exciting to be discovered.

4. Brain Injury Turns Man Into Math Genius - After being brutally attacked in 2002, Jason Padgett now sees the world through a geometric lens. His devastating injury seems to have unlocked part of his brain that makes everything in his world appear to have a mathematical structure.

3. Stonehenge - For centuries, historians and archaeologists have puzzled over Stonehenge, which took Neolithic builders around 1,500 years to build. Located in Southern England, it is comprised of roughly 100 massive upright stones placed in a circular layout.

2. Animal rain phenomenon - The origins of this bizarre animal rain phenomenon have evolved throughout history. The first reported phenomenon occurred in the first century AD, when Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder documented fish and frogs raining from the sky.

1. Tsingy de Bemaraha, Madagascar - The Tsingy de Bemaraha is a national park located in the Melaky Region, northwest Madagascar. The site is unique with its biodiversity and exceptional landscape called the Tsingy - which can be translated into where one cannot walk barefoot.

10. The Ulfberht Swords
Ulfberht swords were the weapon of choice of the Vikings, along with other tribes around northern Europe. They had a long, double edged blade, and a straight crossbar over the grip. There are only about 170 still known to exist today, each of which dates to between the 9th and 11th centuries! And the cool thing is they have the tell-tale inscription in the blade itself.

9. The Drepanosaurus
Whenever a new fossil is found, it gives further clues as to the evolution of animals, and of those that once roamed the earth. Every now and then, though, something is found that makes no sense at all in terms of scientific understanding, and requires a complete re-think of what is taken as fact. This is exactly what’s happening with a little known creature, the Drepanosaurus.

8. Rat Kings
The Rat Kings are a rare phenomena from the animal kingdom that is so bizarre, no-one is entirely sure how it happens. You may have seen one before, but if you haven’t- they really are something quite unusual. They have been a part of legend for centuries, and are formed when a number of rats become attached by the tail.

7. The Martian Meteorite
In 1984, a meteorite fell to earth, something that in itself is no unusual thing. But this one, known as ALH84001, was found to hold secrets that no-one has been able to explain. The 4.1 billion-year-old rock is thought to have originated on Mars, having been dislodged during a collision, and floated through space until it fell into earth’s atmosphere. Unlike other similar specimens, the surface of this rock had something very unusual- what appeared to be the signs of fossilised bacteria.

6. The Longyou Grottoes
The Longyou Grottoes are a series of underground structures near the village of Shiyan Beicun, in the Zhejiang province in China. They are thought to be at least 2000 years old, but scientists and researchers have no idea how they were built, what they were used for, or even who was responsible for them.

5. What was the first dinosaur?
Since we first realized that dinosaurs roamed the earth, palaeontologists have been trying to understand the full range of creatures that once lived, with particular interest revolving around which was the first dinosaur to ever live.

4. The Nampa Stone Doll
The Nampa figurine looks like any other that has been made by an ancient civilisation. The mystery surrounding this one, though, is how it came to be in the place where it was found. It was discovered in 1889 near the town of Nampa in Idaho. Workers were searching for water, and dug a well, which involved drilling a borehole to 295 feet.

3. The Piri Reis Map
Today we take maps for granted. Satellite technology combined with the work of cartographers over the years, plus Google of course, have created incredibly detailed depictions of our planet. All we have to do is use our smartphone! This wasn’t always the way, clearly, and maps from centuries ago were just kind of close approximations based on ship voyages.

2. The Voynich Manuscript
The 600 year old Voynich manuscript is often thought of as being the most mysterious book that has ever been written, and still, to this day, scientists aren’t able to explain what’s inside.

1. Dinosaur and Human Footprints
The final mystery is one which calls into question the idea that humans weren’t around at the time of the dinosaurs, because their footprints have been found side by side. The discovery was made in the Paluxy river, Texas, where hundreds of dinosaur footprints have been found. Their foot impressions were perfectly preserved by the river bed.

The devil's kettle waterfall is believed by some to be a gateway to another universe or even to hell itself. The two streamed waterfall has baffled geologists for decades as no one can work out where the water flowing into the kettle leads. It's as if it simply disappears. But that's not the only mysterious water structure. In the amazon river is now known to be a boiling river hot enough to kill any creature to fall into it. It was thought nothing more than a myth until it's recent discovery and no one knows why the water is hot enough to boil.

In India stands a small village known for having a high twin rate. It's obvious why the settlement is now known as twin town but less obvious why so many twins are born here. Suggested answers include the claim that government experiments secretly changed the genetics of locals decades ago.

Perhaps the most mysterious location is the zone of silence in Mexico, a place known for magnetic phenomena and as a dead zone for radio. You will receive no radio signal while in the zone and don't expect your compass to be reliable. Also watch out for mutated animals or strange alien like figures - those are never a good sign.

Society has always been in a bare knuckle fight with Mother Nature. Going toe to toe with some of her more interesting jabs and punches. Testing ourselves, and oftentimes losing, to hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, Tsunamis and meteor strikes. We’ve become accustomed to these attacks… But… every so often, nature has a trick up her sleeve; an Ace that comes out of nowhere and really floors us.

One two strikes that although natural have no rational cause. Today we are going to list 10 strange unexplained phenomena that stomp science.

11. Why are there so many flowers?
According to Charles Darwin, evolution occurs slowly through natural selection. Because of his theories, he called flowering plants “an abominable mystery”! How’s that for describing flowers?

10. Diversity at the Equator
Today, it’s common knowledge that the closer you get to the equator, the more diverse life becomes. Lush, tropical forests bursting with life are synonymous with equatorial regions, after all.

9. Phytoplankton
Phytoplankton are organisms that live in large bodies of water. This class of creatures include a variety of different subspecies, and they are everywhere. However, their diversity poses a bit of a problem. According to theories of evolution, there shouldn’t be so many varieties. The lack of resources should make it impossible for a large variety of organisms to survive in an ecosystem without killing each other off.

8. Animals That Don’t Need Oxygen
We are taught in school that oxygen is required for life. However, that isn’t exactly true. There are organisms that do not need oxygen and scientists can’t really explain how they can exist.

7. Gelatinous Rain
In 1994, a jelly-like substance rained from the sky onto the Washington town of Oakville. Anyone there when that happened??? According to urban legend, dozens became ill with flu-like symptoms and pets even died. Supposedly, scientists analyzing the substance found two types of bacteria, one of which is commonly found in the human digestive system.

6. Right Hand vs Left Hand
The majority of humans are right-handed. The percentage of left-handed people is somewhere between five and thirty percent. (A wide range I know). There are people who are ambidextrous but there are no statistics on how many.

5. Why do we dream?
Dreams are steeped in lore and legend. Some believe that a dream has important things to say about our lives, desires, and perhaps even our futures. Others believe that dreams are only random images. What does science say about dreams? Not much.

4. Viking Test Results
In 1976, NASA sent two probes named Viking 1 and Viking 2 to Mars. When they arrived, they performed three experiments. These experiments were supposed to determine if life existed on the Red Planet. One such experiment was called the Labeled Release apparatus, which tested for microbes in the soil.

3. Missing Lithium
You are probably already familiar with lithium because of lithium batteries. However, this element is a perplexing question for scientists. Why? Because there should be a whole lot more of it!

2. Dark Streaks on Mars
During warm seasons, there are dark streaks on the surface of Mars. Once the weather becomes colder, the streaks disappear. It was an exciting observation, as it suggested that there was water on the planet. However, NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter didn’t detect any water. That is, until 2015.

1. Humpback Whale Super Groups
Humpback whales normally congregate in small groups, even in migration. Usually, it’s in groups of 3-4 maximum because they are usually solitary animals. However, in 2017, scientists discovered that these marine behemoths were forming supergroups between twenty to two hundred individuals!!

Have you ever wondered what could things could lie below the surface of the ground or oceans in remote and ancient places? Some very strange things have been discovered that have led to incredible surprises from the past including ancient civilizations that possessed some very advanced technology. And after seeing some incredible ancient marvels of architecture and engineering, some are wondering where the technology came from. So grab your passport, and get ready to go on an adventure to see some incredible things!

Qanats of Gonabad Iran
Beneath the dusty deserts of Iran, lie ancient water tunnels which are called qanats. These 3000-year-old aqueducts have been called marvels of engineering and many of them are still in use today. During the Iron Age, when water was found in an elevated place by surveyors, workers would then cut long slopping tunnels from the source of the water to where it was needed.

The Qasabeh Qanat of Gonabad which is also called the kariz Kai Khosrow is one of the oldest and largest qanats in the world. It was built between 700 and 500 BC. Located in Gonabad, Iran this qanat contains 427 water wells with a total length of 67.5 miles (33,113 meters) Some of the unique features of this qanat is its ancient construction method, management system, and structural technique.

Mysterious Stone Structure Beneath Sea of Galilee
Beneath the Sea of Galilee in Israel, a giant stone structure was discovered in the summer of 2003. The monumental stone cone or pyramid is made of un-hewn basalt cobbles and boulders. The entire structure is said to weigh an estimated 60,000 tons. It rises off the sea floor at 32 feet (10 meters) and has a diameter of 230 feet (70 meters) – To give you an idea of just how big that is, Stonehenge has a diameter of just half that size.

Underground City of Derinkuyu
When it comes to beautiful natural wonders, the underground city of Derinkuyu is one to behold. It is an ancient place that was once home to 20,000 people. It is one of the largest underground cities in the world and is located in Turkey’s Cappadocia region. It is one of over 200 subterranean cities that was carved out of volcanic rock. The city is connected to other underground settlements by tunnels that stretch for miles. One of the things that make the city so impressive is its depth of over 250-feet below the surface of the ground. The other impressive thing is the organization that was in place that met the demands of the huge population living underground.

Ethiopian Rock Churches Of Lalibela
Lalibela is a famous place that is known for its 11 Medieval Churches of which all are cut into the very rock that surrounds them. These incredible structures are said to have been carved out of the rock during the 25-year reign of King Lalibela. However, many archaeologists say that it wasn’t possible the churches were built in a 25-year period.

We hope you enjoyed the video. Let us know in the comments which one of these places was your favorite. If you liked the video, then don’t forget to subscribe and turn on notifications so you will be the first to know when a new video comes out. Thanks for watching and we’ll see you next time!

7. NEKO
Thanks to her exceptionally well-hidden grave on the Greek island of Sikinos, a noblewoman named Neko and her precious gold jewelry remained undiscovered for 1,800 years. Greek archaeologists discovered Neko’s grave in 2018. Grave robbers didn’t miss out on her treasures for a lack of trying - in fact, they hit various other tombs on Sikinos, which is part of the Cyclades archipelago.

6. MAGNETIC STATUES
In a park within a small town called La Democracia, which is located near the Pacific Guatemalan coast, there’s a series of 11 ancient stone “potbelly” sculptures on display. Surprisingly, these sculptures are magnetized on certain parts, indicating that the pre-Columbian civilization that crafted them may have had a knowledge of magnetism.

5. SANDBY BORG
Around 1,600 years ago, a gruesome fight occurred at a fort called Sandby Borg on Sweden’s Öland Island. Hundreds of people were killed in the attack and left unburied. After the attack, the site was left alone by neighbors, leading researchers to believe that it was considered a taboo place.

4. Panga ya Saidi
The 1,076-square-foot main chamber of the Panga Ya Saidi cave network in Kenya’s Rift Valley bears evidence of 78,000 continuous years of human occupation. Let that sink in for a minute! It sits where grassland meets with coastal tropical forest, thus providing its former inhabitants with the convenient ability to exploit resources from both environments.

3. THOUSANDS OF TEETH
On two separate occasions in 2018, batches of over 1,000 teeth were discovered in different parts of the world. Last year, archaeologists conducting a preliminary excavation at the site of a future subway station began uncovering teeth. They ultimately collected over 1,000 teeth, which were estimated to be around a century old.

2. ATA
In 2003, someone discovered a naturally-mummified, six-inch-tall skeleton near a ghost town in the Chilean Atacama Desert. The skeleton was female and had unusually hard bones for her size, as well as a conical-shaped head. Rumors quickly spread that the skeleton was that of an alien. In 2012, a doctor named Steven Greer analyzed the skeleton, who was named Ata, using x-ray and CT imaging.

1. A RARE PAINTING OF JESUS
Earlier this year, archaeologists from the University of Haifa announced the discovery of a rare early painting of Jesus inside an ancient church in the Israeli village of Shivta. The 1,500-year-old depiction of Jesus looks quite different from the popular Western image of him. It was found in the Negev Desert of southern Israel among the ruins of a Byzantine-era farming village.

10. The Piri Reis Map
In 1929, a German theologian was cataloging items in the Topkapi Palace Library in Istanbul, and he came across a gazelle skin parchment with an unusual map drawn onto it. Dated back to 1513, it was drawn and signed by Turkish cartographer Hagji Ahmed Muhiddin Piri, an admiral in the Turkish Navy at the time and the map is now known as the Piri Reis map.

9. The Jehoash Inscription
In 2001, a group of Israeli archaeologists were shown a stone tablet, supposedly dating back to 1000 BC, with writing that describes repairs that were made to the temple of Solomon… the first evidence ever to have been found about the renowned building. It underwent a series of tests, including radiocarbon dating, before being declared as a genuine artifact.

8. Spanish Hill, Pennsylvania
Spanish Hill, in Pennsylvania, was first described by an explorer in 1795 who said it was ‘the shape of a sugar loaf, about 100 feet high, with a level top, on which are the remains of intrenchments'. Others saw the remains of walls, and further archaeological investigations have found potential evidence of a Native American society, including shell heaps, corn, flint chips, and various other implements.

7. How Alexander the Great Died
By 323 BC, Alexander the Great had secured an empire that stretched from the Balkans to modern day Pakistan, but his at the age of 32 that year has been a mystery ever since. He was on the verge of attacking another empire, when he became ill and, after 12 excruciating days, finally passed away.

6. Otzi
In 1991, the body of a 5,000-year-old mummy, now known as Otzi, was discovered by mountain climbers. The remains of the 45-year-old were remarkably well preserved, which has allowed researchers to examine in detail the causes of this. Despite this, there's a lot that remains unknown, and there's still great debate about how he met his end.

5. Tikal Temple 33
Tikal Temple 33 was a 108-foot-high Maya funerary pyramid that was found in the remains of the Maya city of Tikal, along with a number of other monuments. It was built in three different stages of construction in the year 457 when King Siyaj Chan K'awiil II's shrine was remodeled, and it's one of the most investigated structures of the city.

4. The Cyrus Cylinder
The Cyrus Cylinder is a clay cylinder which is inscribed in Akkadian cuneiform script. It was created in 539 BC on order of Cyrus the Great, the founder of the first Persian empire when he took control of Babylon.

3. The Sandia Cave
The Sandia Cave in Las Huertas Canyon, New Mexico, was once believed to be a place with vast evidence of the earliest inhabitants to live on the continent, but a set of events has led the archaeological community to question everything that they once thought to be true.

2. The Runamo Inscription
With ancient cultures having used symbols that we wouldn't necessarily recognize today, how would you know for sure whether something was actually written, or just occurred naturally? That's the question that's divided archaeologists in the case of the Runamo inscription, which is located near a church in Blekinge in southern Sweden.

1. The Talpiot Tomb
In 1980, a tomb was unearthed at a burial site in the Talpiot neighborhood of East Jerusalem, and inside there were 10 ossuaries… some of which bore inscriptions that have been translated as saying ‘Jesus son of Joseph’, ‘Mary’, and a few other names associated with the New Testament. These names led some researchers to believe that this was the burial place of the family of Jesus of Nazareth, while many others rejected the idea, saying that these names were very common at the time.

8. The Bloop
In 1997, an extremely loud, ultra-low frequency sound now known as “The Bloop” was picked up by some underwater listening stations. Normally this wouldn't be all that bizarre, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, picks up underwater sounds all the time. After all, that IS the PURPOSE of having underwater listening stations.

7. The Ping
Also from the ocean, this pinging noise was discovered roughly 75 miles northwest of the Inuit hamlet known as Igloolik in the Canadian arctic.
The “ping” seems to be coming from the bottom of the seafloor, and it appears to be frightening away the marine life!!

6. Taos Hum
In the arid landscapes of northern New Mexico, in Taos there is a bizarre noise known as the “Taos Hum”.
It seems that only a small percentage of people can actually hear the Taos Hum, but the noise is so persistent that it can become very irritating and drive people crazy! It’s been described as a seemingly endless, very low frequency humming noise; kind of like the sound of a dog whistle.

5. B-Flat Black Hole
This may come as a surprise, but this strange sound actually comes from outer space! You may be thinking that’s impossible because sound can’t travel through the vacuum of space. However, with sophisticated equipment we are able to pick up on the pulsating wavelengths of electromagnetic vibrations deep in space and then convert them to sound.

4. The Loneliest Whale
This might be one of the saddest sounds ever.
In 1989, an array of US Navy hydrophones began picking up strange sounds in the Pacific Ocean similar to blue whale calls, but drastically different in range. The call was at a frequency of 52 Hertz.

3. Aurora Borealis Clap
You’ve probably seen pictures of the northern lights shining in the night sky, but have you ever heard them?
Surprisingly enough, the aurora borealis appears to make clapping or crackling sounds on some nights. It took the researchers from Aalto University in Finland 12 years, but they finally managed to record evidence of what they call “claps” in 2004.

2. Colossi of Memnon
During the 14th century BC, the pharaoh Amenhotep III had two stone statues built in the Theban Necropolis in Northern Egypt. Both statues portrayed Amenhotep III sitting, meant to act as guardians of the mortuary temple.
