CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Two armies of undead soldiers meet on the battlefield, with Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn (Maria Bello) caught in the middle.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen continues the tale set into motion by director Stephen Sommers with this globe-trotting adventure that finds explorer Rick O'Connell and son attempting to thwart a resurrected emperor's (Jet Li) plan to enslave the entire human race. It's been 2,000 years since China's merciless Emperor Han and his formidable army were entombed in terra cotta clay by a double-dealing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh), but now, after centuries in suspended animation, an ancient curse is about to be broken. Thanks to his childhood adventures alongside father Rick (Brendan Fraser) and mother Evelyn (Maria Bello), dashing young archeologist Alex O'Connell (Luke Ford) is more than familiar with the power of the supernatural. After he is tricked into awakening the dreaded emperor from his eternal slumber, however, the frightened young adventurer is forced to seek out the wisdom of his parents -- both of whom have had their fair share of experience battling the legions of the undead. Should the fierce monarch prove capable of awakening his powerful terra cotta army, his diabolical plan for world domination will finally be set into motion. Of course, the one factor that this emperor mummy failed to consider while solidifying his power-mad plans was the O'Connells, and before this battle is over, the monstrous monarch will be forced to contend with the one family that isn't frightened by a few rickety reanimated corpses.

THE HAN DYNASTY |10 things that you might not know | Itihas

The Han dynasty was the second imperial dynasty of China (206 BC–220 AD), preceded by the Qin dynasty (221–206 BC) and succeeded by the Three Kingdoms period (220–280 AD). Spanning over four centuries, the Han period is considered a golden age in Chinese history. To this day, China's majority ethnic group refers to themselves as the Han Chinese (Han Zu) and the Chinese script is referred to as Han characters. In this video we present video about ten surprising facts about Han dynasty;
1. Founder of Han Dynasty
2. Han Dynasty was a period of economic prosperity
3. An Emperor had many responsibilities.
4. Establishment of Silk road
5.Establishment of civil services
6. Longest period Han ruler
7. Paper was invented during Han rule
8. Progress in Science, Maths and Technology
9. The Legacy of the Han Dynasty
10. End of the dynasty

10 Fateful Events In The Fall Of The Han Dynasty

One of the most romanticized periods in human history is the Three Kingdoms era of ancient China. It’s been retold in novels, plays, movies, and video games. The fall of the Han dynasty set the stage, but those early years were also filled with drama, deception, betrayal . . . and bloody cruelty.Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a classic in Chinese literature. It’s a fictional retelling of the real-life heroes and villains who battled for control in the ruins of the Han dynasty. But since this novel invents some characters and gives others magical powers, it cannot be used as a reliable source. To make this article as historically accurate as possible, we’ve relied largely on Sima Guang’s historical records book, the Zizhi Tongjian, translated by Rafe de Crespigny. It’s a collection of accounts containing direct quotes from the emperor and his officials as they held court.

Just fifteen years after Qin Shi Huang united seven warring states to establish China’s first imperial dynasty, instability following the emperor’s death led to the founding of a new dynasty known as the Han (206 BCE – 220 CE). For most of the next four hundred years, the Han Dynasty presided over a golden age of economic prosperity where the empire expanded, trade flourished, and culture thrived. These formational years, played an important role in the development of China’s imperial bureaucracy and the growth of Confucianism which have had a lasting impact on all of the dynasties that followed.

“The Glories of the Han Dynasty” is a 5-week lecture series exploring the culture of the Han Dynasty through its history, literature, economy, politics, scholarship, and visual arts. Each lecture will be delivered by a prominent scholar covering a crucial aspect of Han Dynasty civilization, including the growth of the Silk Road, the role of Confucianism, and the writing of Sima Qian’s Records of the Grand Historian. The topics will elaborate and expand upon many of the themes touched upon by China Institute’s exhibition Dreams of the Kings: A Jade Suit for Eternity, Treasures of the Han Dynasty from Xuzhou.

The lecture series schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, October 18, 6:30–8:00PM
Valerie Hansen, Professor of History, Yale University
– The Silk Road During the Han Dynasty

Traditional Chinese historians have typically dated the earliest Chinese participation in the Silk Road trade to Zhang Qian’s trip to Central Asia in the 130s and 120s BCE. How does this claim stand up in light of archaeological evidence?

The end of the Han dynasty refers to the period of Chinese history from 189 to 220 CE, which roughly coincides with the tumultuous reign of the Han dynasty's last ruler, Emperor Xian.During this period, the country was thrown into turmoil by the Yellow Turban Rebellion .Meanwhile, the Han Empire's institutions were destroyed by the warlord Dong Zhuo, and fractured into regional regimes ruled by various warlords, some of whom were nobles and officials of the Han imperial court.Eventually, one of those warlords, Cao Cao, was able to gradually reunify the empire, ostensibly under Emperor Xian's rule, but the empire was actually controlled by Cao Cao himself.
