Disney films are fun, exciting, and filled with all types of adventures. For children, they love the characters, songs, silly jokes, and great plots. Parents may be looking a little deeper into the content that they are watching. This includes some pretty dark messages that kids may never notice until they are adults themselves.

In Moana, children cheer on the young girl as she ventures out on her own while parents realize they will never truly have control of their child’s destiny. Return to Neverland features Wendy’s daughter Jane meeting up with Peter, completely abandoning his relationship with an older Wendy. Another odd relationship is featured in The Blank Check. The conclusion: You cannot trust your children with any other adults. Hocus Pocus starred Thora Birch when she was young and a signature house in the film was also used in a very different movie that Birch starred in when she was older. Children love the silly adventures of dogs in the Air Bud series, but they are led to believe that it is the same dog. The Wild was basically a Madagascar rip-off, but the film did feature a backstory that was pretty depressing for animals. Meet the Robinsons is not only an underrated movie, but it can showcase how some people rise above their problems while other cling to them. Bolt showcases the evil side of Hollywood and their ability to just replace anyone for the next best thing. Mars Needs Moms and Frankenweenie also features dark messages based on parenting and science acceptance.

Instead of the standard toys, the little girls enjoy some time with snowman figurines. Watch to see what characters are hidden among the designs. One of Elsa’s big songs in Frozen 2 is “Into the Unknown”. The song helps set her off on her journey -- and provides us with plenty of lyrics to sing along with. In the movie -- the song is also filled with all kinds of great visuals -- including one hidden Mickey that appears in a blink and you miss it moment. While Frozen’s time setting prevents a lot of modern-day references, we do hear Anna use the word “epic” as a kid -- and there’s also a great reference to the band Queen. After struggling to propose to Anna, Kristoff decides to sing about his feelings in the song “Lost in the Woods”. Well, it turns out the song had all the vibes of a 80’s music video and one of the moments was a direct reference to the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody. Watch to see all of these moments and so many others in Frozen 2!

Disney And Pixar Movies Get Banned In Many Countries
Subscribe to our channel:

When thinking about Disney and Pixar movies, you might imagine that there is nothing that they could possibly do that would warrant censorship. These are kids movies, after all? How could something about a cartoon bear or someone’s feelings become controversial at all?
Well, it may surprise you to learn that a ton of Disney movies have faced censorship and even banning over the years, for a whole slew of reasons!
Sometimes people take offence to what is being shown on screen, or they don’t think the content is appropriate for young audiences. Recently, the Pixar movie Onward has been in the news for the fact that its openly LGBTQ character was censored in Russia, and the line about her girlfriend was taken out of the movie entirely. While it might seem like those things don’t happen in North America, a movie theatre in Alabama that refused to show the live action Beauty and The Beast because of one shot in which LeFou danced with another man might just make you feel differently.
There are movies like Abominable, which was banned in parts of Southeast Asia because of ties to a long standing political conflict, moments like a kiss that was removed from the Mulan remake, and crazy covers of old VHS tapes of The Little Mermaid that contained a little… secret. Disney and Pixar movies have been censored and banned all over the world, check out the video below for all of the mind-boggling reasons why!

25 References In Disney Movies Kids Won't Understand

How many of these hidden pop culture references did you notice in these Disney movies? Subscribe to our channel:

Disney loves to reference their own movies and put in Easter Eggs of characters like Mickey Mouse, but there are many times where the writers get clever with pop-culture references outside the realm of Disney. Ahh, the classic go-to excuse: “You wouldn’t hit a guy with glasses”. It’s been used so much in pop-culture, the TV Tropes website has a WHOLE SECTION dedicated to it. In the world of Disney, we see this moment in Wreck-It Ralph, when King Candy poses the question to Ralph. Ralph instantly punches the glasses -- smashing them into pieces. When it comes to Indiana Jones, there are numerous iconic scenes movies have paid homage too -- including one scene with a “close call”. As Indiana escapes a booby-trapped temple in Raiders of the Lost Ark, a large stone door slowly shuts. At the last moment, Jones snags up his hat and able to retrieve his precious item -- you know, instead of just buying a new one. Disney loves to entertain parents with jokes that fly right over a child’s head, but no one expected a meth lab Breaking Bad joke in Zootopia -- but that’s exactly what we got! With John Travolta voicing the title character in the Disney animated film “Bolt”, you would expect some callbacks to Grease or Saturday Night Fever, but the film took a munch different route. When Bolt first encounters Mittens, he wants to find answers about his owner Penny and does it the only way he knows how -- by hanging her body over a fast-moving freeway. Watch to see the secret movie reference!

From Die Hard to Speed and even cult classics like Office Space -- see how Disney hid these pop-culture references in some of your favorites like Ralph Breaks the Internet, Moana, The Incredibles, and Toy Story 4.

Disney classics are classics for a reason. Each one is jam packed with adventure and features a host of characters that are so lovable we wish we could replace our real friends with them. If you are old enough to have watched them in VHS form, you probably still have your stack waiting for you at your family home and refuse to donate them even though your VHS player is long gone. But what if we told you that the movies we know so well were once very different? That’s right, hold onto your hats. Because films go through a bazillion stages before the final cut is greenlit, there are so many lost moments that we never got to see. In the very beginning stages of a film, characters go through so many iterations it would make your head spin. We’ll be looking at how Ursula from The Little Mermaid was once drawn to be part Manta Ray and how Abu the monkey in Aladdin was originally supposed to be an old man sidekick! We’ll also be looking at scenes that were cut like the musical number in Beauty and the Beast where the enchanted objects sung about what it was like when they were human. On top of that, we will explain how lead characters were different, such as in Zootopia where Nick the fox was the original protagonist and in Monsters Inc how Sully was once replaced by a human man who was being haunted by his childhood drawings of monsters. Join us as we uncover twenty moments that would have made our Disney classics unrecognizable.

10 hidden messages in Pixar movies
For a long while now, some of our movies have been heavily scrutinized for containing hidden messages.
Every fan knows by now that if they go to Disney Pixar movies, they should expect to witness a lot of
hidden messages. Most of the times there are subtle nods from the previous movies and most often
there are glimpses of some future films.
Pixar’s every installment almost follows the same pattern. The last movie, Onward is no different in this
aspect, its set consists of mystical world where wizards and unicorns exist but at the same time Pixar
didn’t stop itself from filling in some amazing details. Often times these details are references towards
other Pixar characters. These films are always full of emotions and have a strong storyline which makes
most of audiences to miss out on these hidden messages.
It’s not until you watch these movies countless times that you can catch onto these hidden moments.
Pixar film is notorious for creating these moments. Today our pick will consist of the hidden messages
that have been caught in the details of Pixar movies.
11. Marvel references in Onward
When voicing of the lead characters is done by Tom Holland (Spider-man) and Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), it’s
quite evident that there will be some Marvel Comics references involved. These although can only be
picked up by someone who is a marvel fan.
In Onwards, the character Barely Lightfoot’s was wearing a jacket that was patched with many sticker,
one being an infinity gauntlet. Aside from that reference, the character also used mix tapes in his van,
which is one of the features of Star-Lord form the movie “Guardian of the Galaxy.”
Inside the van of Barely Lightfoot there was a sticker that showcased Thanos Gauntlet and also has a
patch which said Hydra referring towards the Infinity War Series. These are small details that can be
over looked very easily unless you are a true fan or you like have watched both these movies at least
five times.
10. Toy Story Stories
In Toy Story, the character Woody makes a rousing speech in front of the bookshelf. When you look
closely and examine the titles of the books that are placed on the self very closely, you can spot a few
familiar titles, including, Tin Toy, Knick Knack and the Adventures of Andre and Wally B., which are all
the titles of short films that have been produced before Toy Story.
Another hidden message in Toy Story is when Buzz tries desperately to find an escape route out of the
house to join the collection of the misfit toys. What makes it surprising to the eyes is the fact that Sid’s
Carpet is the same design as the hotel in the 1980 thriller, The Shining.
9. Lion King

Since the year 1994, Lion King has been one of the most loved Disney films of all time. The role of Simba
a young lion who embraces his rightful place as a King of his native land following the murder trial of his
father Mufasa at the hands of his uncle, was something that hooked up every child at the time.
This movie has received numerous awards and is considered to contain the entire essentials moral
lesson that need to be taught to all children. Its reference has been used in many movies that have
been released till this day.
In the Pixar production of the film, A Bug’s Life, if we look closely during the scene of Flik soaking in the
ambiance of the city, it can be witnessed that how fat has the phenomenon of The Lion King’s Broadway
adaption has travelled. There is a Bill board at the back of the scene where you can clearly see the logo
of Lion King making its way cryptically into the movie. Again this is detail that can only be caught by an
eagle eye not everyone has the ability to caught these past references.
8. Brave’s Connection
Walt Disney has confirmed to all its feverish fans that theory that all of the Pixar movies exist in the
same universe is in fact true. The Grand Unified Theory of Pixar has been around for many years now
but was highly popularized in the year 2013 by film critics.
Many movies showed a lot of connections with other Pixar productions sometimes from the past films
and sometimes gave the reference towards any upcoming release. The movie onwards gave a green flag
to the one universe theory with some subtle nods to “Brave”.
There was a scene in which close details on a map showed the label of “The Brave Wilderness” on the
top right corner. This was located next to the “Loch Lake” which gave a reference to Scotland. It’s easy
to imagine that both of these worlds exist together, since both the movies has magic within them.
7. Finding Nemo Preview
Finding Nemo is another more admired production of Pixar movies. It is a story that teaches us the
lesson of perseverance and courage.
