30 hour Emotional Travel Day. Philippines to Canada flight home during Coronavirus

x

30 hour Emotional Travel Day. Philippines to Canada flight home during Coronavirus.

After three months of being stuck in El Nido during the Coronavirus Pandemic, we are finally leaving the Philippines! We previously flew from El Nido to Manila and then spent a few days in Manila before catching this flight.

We’re flying with ANA (All Nippon Airways) from Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) to Vancouver (Vancouver International Airport) with a quick two hour stopover in Tokyo (Haneda Airport).

We document our whole experience, from lining up outside the Manila Airport, checking in to the flight with ANA, Immigration fees for staying in the Philippines for over 3 months, food in the airports as well as on the plane. We also talk about what it’s like travelling in airplanes and airports during Covid-19 and the pandemic.

The video finishes with us finally arriving in Vancouver Airport and heading to our airport hotel to spend one night.

In our next video we’ll be making our way from Vancouver all the way to our home city of Halifax, with a stopover in Toronto.

Flying across Canada during Covid-19. Bye Philippines ???? Coast to Coast Flight. Vancouver to Halifax

In this video we’ll be flying from Vancouver to Halifax during the Covid-19 Pandemic. After three months of being stuck in El Nido during the Coronavirus Pandemic, we have finally left the Philippines! In the last video we flew from Manila to Vancouver (through Tokyo Haneda).

We just spent a night at an airport hotel in Vancouver and today we’re flying with Air Canada across all of Canada from Vancouver to Halifax with a 4 hour stopover in Toronto.

In general we found the airports and airplanes a bit busier than we expected for domestic travel. We appreciated that Air Canada wasn’t using the middle seats in the plane for better social distancing.

Finally after months we arrive home in Halifax to our AirBNB rental where we’ll be spending our 14 day quarantine.

Flying During COVID-19 (PH to Canada) | Travel w/ Me + Answering Your Questions While Flying

What is it like traveling during the pandemic? It's very different from my usual experiences from traveling. Is this the New Normal of traveling?

Why did I even travel?
I had to go back home to Canada. I have dual citizenship (Filipino-Canadian) and I was bored in the PH so I decided to fly to Canada.

FLYING BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES AMID COVID19 | PROCEDURES / EXPERIENCE

How to go back to Philippines amid Covid19 Pandemic?
If you are planning to go back to the Philippines, watch our video to check some of the information that you must know before flying.
We have recorded our experience during our trip from Los Angeles going back to the Philippines amid Covid19 Pandemic. If you plan to go home, bring all the patience you could get. It was very tedious. If you are bound for Manila and you are flying with PAL airlines you might have your quarantine done in Manila or Cebu. Coordinate with your airline so you know where to book a hotel. Quarantine process would be the same for both, although if you will be directed to Cebu then it would be a bit more complicated since you will have another flight to Manila after your quarantine.

If you are flying with a different airline, I think they all go straight to Manila.
With PAL airlines: If you are Manila-bound Passenger but have to undergo quarantine in Cebu.
You will undergo the required COVID testing in Cebu and stay in one of the accredited hotels for quarantine..
Once you receive a negative test result (usually within 24 to 48 hours of the test), PAL will fly you from Cebu to Manila at no extra charge.
Before we have been told that the Swab Test (COVID test) was 3500 php only but then we were asked to pay 4500 php in CEBU. You may pay by cash or card. In Cebu, they only accept peso and VISA card. Non- OFWs are free.

Flying to the Philippines during Covid on Feb. 24th, 2020 was actually scary. Air Asia did an amazing job making sure that we felt as safe as possible with the information we all had. Not only was it scary to travel, the day before we land in Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, 400 Infected Filipinos were repatriated and some guy was coughing his lungs out right next to me...

As always thank you so much for watching!

My Journey Travelling to Philippines while PANDEMIC (Covid-19) | Toronto to Manila Travel Guide

This video is not perfect, please pause the video to read the details. Some parts may switch fast to read.

This video is my journey from TORONTO - CEBU - MANILA - PAGADIAN - to my Home Town as an ROF (Returning Overseas Filipino). The information provided in the video is base on my Travel experience and PAL Advisory. I suggest to do your research first on what to expect going home to Philippines and your home town base on your status as a traveler. Don't forget to communicate with the LGU (Local Government Unit) of your province because they are the ones who are going to help you to pick you up from the Airport (with your SWAB TEST RESULT & maybe your Travel Authority as well depends on what they request) for you to be Rapid test and arrange where you will quarantine in your province. I hope the video helps you in some way.

Flying during the pandemic: Europe to Canada ✈️

28. I thought it would be pretty cool to document my trip back home! my flight was mid-day, but it felt like i was flying overnight because the airports were so eerie! NUE airport is not usually busy anyway, but i was quite surprised with AMS and YYZ. anyway, super empty flights, no lines.. the dream! very interesting experience.

some details i forgot to mention:

-at the Canadian border they gave out an info sheet on how to self quarantine and made sure you had a safe place to do so. at the moment, Canadian borders are still only open to citizens/PRs and/or for essential travel
-I flew with KLM. KLM requires all passengers to wear a mask on the flight at all times. hot meals are only served for 9+ hour flights
-my flight was from NUE - AMS, AMS - YYZ. it was a rescheduled flight (my original flight was initially scheduled for a couple days before this one)
-if you’re flying, be sure to regularly check on your flight status (KLM didn’t notify me about my flight cancellation/reschedule)

stay healthy ????

Going home to the Philippines during the Covid-19 Pandemic

This is my journey home to Manila amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Guide for Returning Filipinos

1. Register online . You can actually register before your flight. Take a photo of your passport before registering because you need to upload it.

2. Wait for confirmation email. Save QR code in your phone.

3. Listen to the briefing. It will give you guidance on the process. For OFW, everything will be covered by OWWA. For non-OFW, you will shoulder the expenses.

4. Verification and Barcoding. Submit the Covid-19 documents. Prepare your Philhealth card/number. I didn’t pay any amount because I have PhilHealth. But they say, it’s Php 3,500.

5. Immigration process.

6. Quarantine Hotel registration. I suggest you book a hotel and transport before your flight. It will save you time. But if you don’t have a booking, you can get a hotel and transport at the airport. You can take the Airport Taxi/Service going to your hotel.

7. Coast Guard will assist you for you Airport taxi/service.

8. Wait for results. To check results: . It took 48 hrs for my result to be released. Prepare your control number (it’s a sticker given after verification) and passport number. The estimated wait time is 3-5 days.

9. Get your quarantine certificate: if you have negative results. If positive, Bureau of Quarantine will pick you up at the hotel.

MY PARENTS LONG JOURNEY BACK HOME FROM THE PHILIPPINES TO CANADA

My parents are home! They left Winnipeg last March 4 for a short vacation trip to the Philippines and scheduled to return April 16. Unfortunately, their scheduled flights home got cancelled three time because of Covid 19. They had a long 9 hours journey from our hometown in Batac, Ilocos Norte to Manila. Flight from Manila to Incheon for 3 hours with a long layover of 13 hours. Flight from Incheon to Vancouver for 10 hours and a layover of 7 hours. Then lastly, a 2.5 hours flight from Vancouver to Winnipeg.

They were tired reaching home but we are so happy that they are finally home. Now, we all have to quarantine. ????

Please subscribe to my channel and like my Facebook page. Also, please watch my other videos. Enjoy! ????
