5 Tips to Make Your Ants Happy | Building a New Ant Farm!

Slime Sam and his human friend Sue really like their ant farm but they don't want to stop at that. They want a bigger colony, so they get more ants and a new formicarium for them. It's easy to assemble and fun to decorate! This ant farm has a large area which ants can explore and get their food. This area is called the arena and Sue decorates it to look like a seashore: there's sand, blue pebbles to imitate the sea, several large stones, artificial plants, a small wooden house, and even a toy turtle! It is important to remember that the arena can be decorated only when the ants settle in.

To make sure your ants are happy and healthy, you need to moisturize the system of pathways. It can be done by wetting plaster-covered segments of this formicarium. Make sure you use very pure water, preferably distilled water. All decor elements and food should be as clean as possible, too. Remember to clean the arena from time to time, because that's where the ants will take their rubbish out.

This colony is formed by harvester ants, Messor Structor. They are known for grinding seeds with their mandibles into fine flour. They use this flour to make food for their babies and share food with fellow ants. Their colony can grow up to 50 000 specimen! Sam and Sue are eager to see if their colony can grow that big.

How to Build an ANT FARM AT HOME

WOW! Slime Sam and Sue do an unboxing video today! But you'll never guess what they are opening! Ready? It's an ant farm! That's right! After making funny videos about their pet bunny, pet rat and giant African snail they felt like they needed something even more exotic and had some ants and ants farm delivered to their house.
How will jelly Slime Sam take new occupants? Will Sue know what to feed them? Are there going to candy inside? Watch the video to find the answers to these questions!

This ant farm is really easy to assemble and no glue and no tools are required. The ant farm consists of plastic walls, plastic roof, some rubber bands that will help to keep all the parts together, a sponge and a small tube for water.
All farm parts are usually included and the ants will arrive along with the farm. Do you think you could carefully catch wild ants? Do you think they would like an ant house like the one we made at home? We challenge you to test it! Be careful though, some ant species can bite and even be harmful so you better use protection and ask adults for help.

WHERE DO ANTS USUALLY LIVE?
The answer is... they can adapt and live pretty much everywhere! Natural ant habitat differs from species to species. They exist in large groups called ant colonies and live underground, in trees, in the walls of the buildings and houses both outside and inside.

WHAT DO ANTS EAT?
The answer is... pretty much anything! Most species are omnivorous which means they prefer eating seeds, nectar, and invertebrates (animal without vertebrae, i.e. backbone.). Army ants are mostly carnivorous. They hunt, destroy and eat prey, they eat insects such as flies and spiders, warms and even small vertebrates like lizards! You would never think that looking at small and hard-working ants, would you?
Most ants have a massive sweet tooth and will go for anything that contains sugar. Soda drink, all kinds of fruit and vegetables, desserts, juice and so much more! So unless you want to share your meal with cute neighborhood ants make sure to cover the food with a lid if you are eating outside:)

HOW MANY ANT SPECIES ARE THERE?
You'll get old while counting, it's over 12 000 species in the world.

ANTS FUN FACTS:
- The ants in the video are called Cataglyphis Aenescens, runner ants, and they are most common in steppes but also in semi-deserts and deserts.
- Actually, there are so many ants on Earth, that currently there are one million ants per human being!
- The common worker ants live from 90 days to 3 years. And the ant queen can reign for up to 30 years!
- Ants can carry weights 5000 times heavier than their own weight! Can you imagine that?! If an eight-year-old child had the strength and endurance of an ant they would be able to pick up a car with no trouble whatsoever. It's hard to believe but it's true.
- Our ants are called runners because they are incredibly fast. They run faster than other species of ants because they can lift their abdomen in a special way!
- Ants DON'T HAVE EARS! But they can hear with their knees and feet. They sense vibrations from their surroundings!

Slime Sam and his pet human Sue love all kinds of insects and animals! They already have a funny bunny, a snail with a tail, a mad rat and now ants with hands. They love them all so much and although Sam is not very responsible yet he is learning to take care of their pets and Sue is helping him along the way. Do you have any fun ideas for unusual pets for Sam and Sue? Let us know in the comments!

9:41 - HOW TO MAKE A FUN CARDBOARD GAME FOR A PET RAT

If you have a pet rat or want to make a labyrinth for your science project, do it together with Sam and Sue! To make this labyrinth, you will need some thick cardboard, hot glue, some paints and markers, a ruler, some wooden ice-cream sticks, a spinner, and some plastic. First, you need to mark out all the 'rooms' on a large piece of cardboard. Then you need to make all the fun details: a revolving door shaped like a piece of cheese, a seesaw, a bridge, and a transparent tunnel. Then make the walls! Some walls should have round 'doors' for the rat to pass through them. Make the gates for the entrance, to close the rat in. Then glue all the pieces in place. Lastly, cover the labyrinth with a large piece of plastic glass. It should have a lot of holes in it to let the air through! And then let the rat in!

Rats aren't only smart, they are clean, communicative, can be taught many things, and easy to take care of. Does it sound like an ideal pet to you?

19:28 - THE CUTEST LITTLE BUNNY, ALICE IN WONDERLAND AND MAD TEA PARTY

Slime Sam was reading Alice in Wonderland and had a wonderful dream... He was chasing a white rabbit and then they had a mad tea party together! Toys, candy, tea, and glitter - it was all here! Watch what happened after!

3 Cool Cardboard Crafts That Will Knock Your Socks Off

Cardboard ideas for your pets!!! Easy and simple DIY projects! ????????????

CARDBOARD + PETS + DIY = 10000000000000 FUN TIMES!

Slime Sam and his pet humans cannot live without cardboard crafts. They always come up with creative ideas for DIY projects and build them together. You should totally try it too! The tools and supplies they use are very simple and most likely you already have everything you need at home.

The most important things that you'll need for pretty much any cardboard craft:

- lots and lot of corrugated cardboard;

- hot glue;

- rulers and measuring tape;

- markers, pens, pencils;

- box cutter or an office knife;

- bamboo sticks;

- popsicle sticks;

- rubber bands;

- scissors.

REMEMBER, safety comes first! Always ask an adult to help you with a project if it requires using sharp objects or hot glue! Not only it'll be safe for you but it also brings you and your family closer and you will have so much fun together! Let your parents be kids again;)

????0:10 - How to build a maze for a cat at home

Cats are very curious creatures and they love exploring everything new around them. Very often you can see your cat running around like crazy or bouncing off the walls. You know why cats do that? We think it's because they are so bored with these few walls they have to live in! Not a lot of people take cats outside but they want to play and have some fun and see something new. Well, create this opportunity for your furry friend by building a giant labyrinth from cardboard There's a small chance your cat will not want to play there but they all like empty boxes so take a chance!

????8:05 - How to make an obstacle course for a hamster

Do you have a hamster? And you don't know how else you can entertain it? We got a great DIY solution for you! Build a maze a.k.a. obstacle course for your restless pet! Hamsters need to keep themselves busy, this is their lifestyle and if they don't have a hamster wheel or anything else to do they might become sad and even depressed. This little DIY project will keep them busy for hours. Also, unlike rats, hamsters have a short memory so every time they go through your handmade toy labyrinth it'll be a new experience for them!

????17:44 - How to feed a dog without touching dog's food

It's no secret dogs love to eat. Sometimes too much. Build this fantastic dog feeder out of cardboard and teach your dog how to use it. It's super simple, pushing a lever will give your dog a new portion of food in their bowl. But make sure you control how much food there's in the dispenser or they can eat too much :D

Your dog will bark you THANK YOU!

Peter The Spider Moves To A New House

Some time ago slime Sam and his friend Sue got a new pet - a tarantula whom they called Peter They made a house for him and since then Sam and the spider became friends. Sam likes cosplaying Spiderman - or, in his case, Spiderslime - and being a friendly neighbor.

But one day Sam and Sue found that Peter shed and grew up and needed a new house. They bought and assembled a special glass terrarium, added coconut substrate for a cozy floor, a snag for the spider to sleep in, fun decor - a pirate skull and a green branch, and a water bowl. Sue also installed a humidity sensor to make sure there's always a comfortable environment for the spider.

Check out the spider exploring his new home 5:10 He seems to enjoy it!

Football For Fish! DIY Aquarium

One day slime Sam found weird creatures in a jar! They were telling him something, but he couldn't understand. As it turned out these were Samantha's pet fish! When Sam pointed out that the jar was too small for them, Samantha agreed to make a new large aquarium for them.

To make this aquarium Samantha used Plexiglas and special glue to make everything waterproof. Then she added some stones and nice green grass on the bottom and decorated it to look like a football field, because Samantha loves sports! She even added goal posts made of drinking straws and thread.

Fish need fresh air, so Samantha made an air compressor, too. She used an air pump, plastic tubes, a battery, a switch and wires to make it. And all of that goes into a cardboard box. Only the tube is in the water, so the rest won't get wet!

After that, Samantha added some water and let the fish in! They seem to enjoy their new spacious apartments!

Ant Farm Time Lapse Over 4 Days In Gel With Harvester Ants Uncle Milton Ant Farm HD

This video is using the Uncle Milton Ant Farm. The first of my ant farm videos was at normal speed and edited for time with a lot of video removed. This video is in double speed and has all the video I took over 4 days. So you can see everything.

This will show you how much work an ant colony can do in just 4 days. It is a time lapse video showing how much work is done in a few hours to a few days.

This ant farm is using green gel the ants eat and dig in. Some people do not like the gel, but it is the only one I have to show how ants work.
