7 Businesses That Will Boom After This Pandemic

Throughout history more billionaires and millionaires are made after a recession and economic crash than any other time. So how do you take advantage of this time?

The global economy will this year likely suffer the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression due to the Covid-19 pandemic, says the International Monetary Fund.

The World Trade Organization also said that global trade will contract by between 13% and 32% this year. Also the OECD has warned the economic hit from the virus will be felt “for a long time to come.” No one knows when the corona virus pandemic will end for economic activities to return to normal. But even as uncertainty abounds, life changing opportunities will rear their heads.

Throughout history, events such as economic recessions and pandemics have changed the trajectory of governments, economies and businesses. The Black Death in the 1300s broke the long-ingrained feudal system in Europe and replaced it with the more modern employment contract.

The SARS pandemic of 2002-2004 catalyzed the meteoric growth of small companies like Ali Baba and helped establish it at the forefront of retail in Asia. This growth was fueled by underlying anxiety around traveling and human contact, similar to what we see today with Covid-19.

The financial crises of 2008 also produced its own disruptive side effects. Airbnb and Uber shot up in popularity across the west as the crises forced people to share assets in the form of spare rooms and car rides in order to cover for the deficit.

With Covid-19, we are already seeing early signs of a shift in how consumers and businesses behave. Remote working is being encouraged by tech and non-tech companies alike, supply chains are getting disrupted globally and retail stores are running out of ibuprofen, dry goods and toilet paper en masse.

Some of these changes are direct, short-term responses to the crises and will revert to regular levels once Covid-19 is contained. However, some of these shifts will continue on, creating a long-term disruption that will reshape businesses for decades to come.

While it’s more important to focus on getting out of the health risks posed by the outbreak, you need to keep your eyes on what lies ahead after this pandemic because this global pandemic will shape businesses for decades to come. Here are 7 businesses that will boom after the corona virus pandemic.

10 Businesses That Will Boom after This Pandemic and Lockdown.

In today’s video, I’ll share with you 10 businesses that will boom after the pandemic crises; businesses that will boom after lockdown.

During a pandemic, job losses and business bankruptcy will always get severe – and they come along with far-reaching socio-economic impacts.

In the current pandemic, reports claim that nearly 40 million jobs have been lost in the US alone. And even more strikingly, over 500 companies have already filed for bankruptcy according to American Bankruptcy Institute.

These numbers are startling. And guess what? The bigger fraction occurred in just the past two months.

So probably this has affected you and things are currently unbecoming. Perhaps you were laid off , sent to an indefinite unpaid leave or your company operations has been paralysed by this pandemic..

Have all hopes dwindled, anyways? No. Instead, these are desperate times that need wise decision-making and solid, prompt actions.

And as a quick reminder: every problem you face is actually an opportunity. Try to find a solution and (whoopee!), there is a business idea right in it.

Talking of business ideas, which ones really edge it out in a pandemic like this?

After extensive research, I came up with a list of 10 businesses that will boom after this pandemic. Check this video out!

8 Profitable Pandemic-Created Business Ideas for 2020

Profitable businesses that are in high demand in 2020

to get started.

Earlier this year, as the global coronavirus crisis began to unfold, our way of living, working and doing business changed dramatically and quickly. This change has created new opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

(1) DEEP-CLEANING SERVICES
Deep cleaning services are different from regular janitorial services because they involve reaching the deep grime and dirt at offices and homes, and covers areas that are not traditionally covered by regular cleaning services, e.g. washing of blinds and curtains, full and deep dusting of all rooms and corners, furniture and even doors and doorknobs, and sanitizing of computers and peripheral IT equipment, phones and other shared equipment.
The demand for deep-cleaning services is likely to continue to rise as companies prepare for employees and customers to return to offices on a more regular basis.

(2) IT AND CYBERSECURITY CONSULTING
The Internet is one innovation that has changed the world; but as helpful as the internet has been, it has also caused a lot of problems as cyber-crimes are now being committed by either individuals or groups of people. Starting a cyber-security business is a lucrative business to go into because individuals, businesses and the government need their data protected. However, to start this kind of business, you will need to have technical skills that will be needed to secure data or stop an ongoing attack for your client.

(3) DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATERS
One of the most peculiar small business categories that have recently seen success in the coronavirus era is drive-in movie theaters. Owners of drive-in theaters in California, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri all told the Los Angeles Times recently that business had increased in light of coronavirus. While it’s not clear if these drive-in theaters will remain open as many “non-essential businesses” are closed, the coronavirus crisis may reinvigorate these types of businesses in a new period where keeping your distance is encouraged

(4) FILMMAKING/STUDIO DESIGN CONSULTING SERVICES
Everything is online, all calls happen through Zoom nowadays. Nobody wants to use an old-fashioned camera in a dark room to pitch a product, for example. Companies and individuals spend thousands of dollars on creating their own studio for video calls and conferences in order to look professional.

(5) VIRTUAL PERSONAL TRAINING
Between gym closures and remote work orders, it became easy for many people across the world to stay sedentary and gain a few extra pounds. Now, people are looking to shed the body fat and they might need a little more accountability and personalized guidance than a home workout app or group fitness class can offer.
Virtual personal trainers can offer one-on-one live sessions via video conference and work with clients from the comfort of their homes. They can also share digital guides with exercises and meal plans, and offer text or email-based support to clients between workouts.

9 Businesses That Are Booming Because of This Pandemic

If you are looking for a profitable side business you can do during this lockdown and covid-19 pandemic, here are 9 businesses that are succeeding at the time of making this video.

With Covid-19, we are already seeing early signs of a shift in how consumers and businesses behave. Businesses are allowing employees to work from home, goods are drying up in the counter and people are more conservative with their spending.

With all of these, the economic slowdown caused by the pandemic hasn't hit all industries equally — and some are even doing better than before. Let’s take a look at some of these businesses that are doing well in spite of the lockdown.

Before we get to it, it’s important that I say this. We do not encourage you to exploit the current situation to profit from people’s fear. Just to make quick money people are selling face-masks, hand sanitizer and other essential item for 10 to 50 times the price. Not only is this wrong, it is very short-sighted. You may make the quick money, but at the expense of your reputation. There is nothing wrong with making more money from your business when demand exceeds supply. Considering that the current situation is a matter of life and death, I think this people need to be more considerate. With that said, you can at least tell what this video is not about. It’s not about selling hand sanitizers and face masks at exorbitant price. While you are here, subscribe to this channel to continue exploring opportunities and gaining insights to help you during this period. We will be sharing more insightful videos like this through the coming weeks.

The coronavirus has changed the job market almost overnight. The global outbreak has seriously impacted the economy and job security. It will have long-lasting, game-changing ramifications. We’re entering a brutal job market, where you just can’t take anything for granted.

(1) MOVIE THEATERS. Filmmaker Universal detonated a nuclear bomb in Hollywood last week. Its kids film Trolls 2 became the first mainstream movie to be released online, skipping movie theaters. Families can stream it at home for 20 bucks. Movie theaters have always held an exclusive window for film releases. They demand 90-day, exclusive rights before the movie can be shown elsewhere. In short, this is how they make money. Filmmakers have toyed with releasing films online, but theaters always blocked it.

(2) DEPARTMENT STORES. Department stores, malls and speciality retailers will lose business and shed jobs, as people are not leaving their homes. Big retailers, such as Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, have all announced that they are closing their stores. This will cause a large number of retail workers to lose their jobs.

(3) OFFICE SPACE OPERATORS. This crisis has forced the world into a mass experiment. Tens of millions of us are working from home for the first time ever. It’s changing an entire generation’s view on what can be done remotely. After months of working from home, folks will realize they’re just as productive. They’ll question why they need to commute to the office every day. And working remotely, say, two or three days a week will become the new normal.

(4) TRAVEL. Airlines, aircraft manufacturers and their suppliers, resorts, hotels, restaurants, sporting events, cruise lines, conferences and music concerts will be negatively impacted. With the sudden cessation of business, companies in these areas will be forced to downsize their employees or radically cut the hours that they work. Many businesses may not make it and close down.

(5) MANUFACTURING. Manufacturing is going to get hit hard too. The three big Detroit automakers have all announced that they will suspend operations at their factories in the United States. Under pressure from the United Auto Workers union over concerns about the safety of its members, the auto giants have temporarily ceased operations.

Industries and companies that will be hiring, thriving and making money: online, AR (augmented reality), video game, giant global corporations, renewable energy (solar and wind). More details are in the video.

7 Job Skills That’ll Be In High Demand After This Pandemic

A shift in the labor market typically takes decades to happen. For instance, the advent of digital technology didn’t totally replace traditional media like TV and radio. There are still jobs at TV and radio, even newspaper houses. The traditional journalists still have their jobs. So new technology doesn’t immediately substitute traditional employees, because people and businesses adapt to change at different pace.

But there are times when adjustments to technology change may be catalyzed by series of events like economic crisis or a pandemic In time of prosperity, companies may be more resistant from adapting to change due to the potential initial cost of dumping the old for the new. However, recessions can produce shocks strong enough to overcome this resistance and force companies to seek innovative options. This is known as creative destruction. Creative destruction is the dismantling of long-standing practices in order to make way for innovation.

Where am I getting to with all this? Here it is; whether adjustments to technological change will be gradual or sudden it’s important for you to understand how the landscape of jobs will be affected after this pandemic; and the level of up-skilling that will be required.

After the 2008 economic crisis, according to Harvard Business Review, the economy recovered faster than employment rate. That is, many people remained jobless even after the economy had recovered. Why did this happen? Again, after the 2008 recession, according to National Bureau of Economic Research, job adverts were more likely to contain education, experience, analytical and computer skills than before the recession.

Due to the tough economic situation, companies were focused to adopt technology and innovation more strictly than before it. The recession drastically changed the skills employers want, and this remained so years after. Workers who had not developed these required skills found it more difficult to get a job. The job market doesn’t adapt to people’s skill level during difficult times. Instead people have to adjust to the adjusted demand of the job market. So what are some the job skills that will be in high demand after this pandemic? That’s what you will learn from this video. Before we get to it, be sure to subscribe to After School Africa for more insightful videos like this.

5 Sectors That Are Booming During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Some of the world's most successful startups like Uber, Slack, Airbnb, Square, WhatsApp and Instagram were founded between 2008 and 2010, the period is known as the great recession.

While the coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc on our lives and the economy, it also presents business opportunities for entrepreneurs who are willing to take the leap.

Let’s take a look at the opportunities that this lockdown has created for Indian entrepreneurs.

00:00 Introduction

02:37 Edtech

India has one of the largest education ecosystems in the world with 1.5 million schools and an estimated 280 million students by 2021. According to 2017 KPMG and Google study, India’s online education market will be worth $2 billion by 2021. However, this lockdown caused by COVID-19 has forced schools and colleges to shut down indefinitely, leaving millions of students unable to access education.

Indian edtech startups have taken this opportunity to offer their platforms free of charge to schools and students, showing the potential of online education in changing India’s education forever. Take the example of India’s only edtech unicorn Byju’s which has over 50 million registered users on its platform and 13.5 million of them started using their platform during the month of March and April alone.

05:33 Video Conferencing

One of the biggest company that has taken the world by storm during the lockdown is none other than Zoom. This lockdown provided a perfect opportunity for Zoom to become the go-to video conferencing app for every major tech giant like Deloitte, Uber, Slack, Zendesk and Autodesk. In December 2019, Zoom had 10 million daily active users. The company has witnessed a massive 30x growth within the last few months and their daily active users now stand at over 300 million. This opportunity has been seized by other video conferencing companies as well, like Google and Microsoft.

An Indian startup that has been making the rounds lately with its popular web-based online event platform is Airmeet. This Bengaluru-based startup has taken the opportunity to enable the companies to host live events through its platform as all major events and conferences are now being hosted online.

08:07 Online Grocery Delivery

Online grocery delivery has been one of the toughest markets to crack for Indian startups the low-profit margins and high churn rates. At the moment online food and grocery retail constitute merely 0.2% of the overall retail market and it is expected to touch 1.2% by the year 2023. While 1.2% doesn’t sound much, it means that this industry could be worth $10.5 billion by 2023.

Like any other industry on the list, online grocery delivery startups have witnessed exponential growth during the lockdown. Take the example of India’s grocery delivery unicorn BigBasket which was delivering about 1,50,000 delivery every day is now making close to 3,00,000 deliveries every day.

The growth has been so monumental that Amazon and Flipkart have also ramped up their grocery delivery business. However, all these startups combined have been unable to keep up with the ever-rising demand. According to industry estimates, the country’s online grocery sale will be worth $3 billion this year, a sharp 73% jump from last year’s $1.7 billion.

11:26 OTT/Video Streaming

According to an ASSOCHAM-PwC report, India’s OTT video streaming market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 22% during the period of 2017-2022 to reach a market size of $823 million by 2022.

While OTT is still in the nascent stages in India, with the lockdown, cinema halls all around the country have been closed and more and more people are spending time watching content on video streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. This has given a boost to the OTT platforms in India and around the world.

13:54 Gaming

According to a Google and KPMG report, India’s online gaming market is estimated to reach $1 billion by 2021 from $290 million in 2017. However, with people spending more and more time on their mobile phones, these numbers could be reached much faster than previously anticipated.

Paytm First Games witnessed a massive 200% growth in its user base in the month of March gaining a staggering 75,000 users every month. However, Ludo King, a game by Gametion Technologies seems to be a clear winner in the online gaming market. This game had merely 15 million daily active users before the lockdown began but at its peak, it had more than 250 million users playing the game daily. While the number has gone down to 40 million now, it is still considerably higher.
