The Impressive Health Benefits of Eggs

Subscribe to our free science-based videos:

Eggs are among the very few foods you could actually classify as a superfood. They are rich in all sorts of nutrients, many of which are lacking in the modern diet. Here are the top 4 health benefits of eggs.

1. Eggs Are Incredibly Nutritious

Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. A whole egg contains all the nutrients required to turn a single cell into a chicken.

A single large boiled egg contains:

Folate: 5% of the RDA.
Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA.
Vitamin B5: 7% of the RDA.
Vitamin B12: 9% of the RDA.
Phosphorus: 9% of the RDA.
Vitamin B2: 15% of the RDA.
Selenium: 22% of the RDA.

Eggs also contain decent amounts of Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Calcium and Zinc.

2. Eggs Are High in Quality Protein

Proteins and their amino acids are the main building blocks of the human body. They’re used to make all sorts of tissues and molecules that serve both structural and functional purposes.

Eggs are an excellent source of protein, with a single large egg containing 6 grams.

Eggs contain all the essential amino acids in the right ratios, so our bodies are well equipped to make full use of the protein in them.

Studies show eating adequate protein can help with weight loss, increase muscle mass, lower blood pressure and optimize bone health… to name a few.

3. Eggs Contain Lutein and Zeaxanthin, Antioxidants That Have Major Benefits For Eye Health

As we age, eyesight tends to get worse.

There are several nutrients that help counteract this degenerative process.

Two of these are called Lutein and Zeaxanthin, powerful antioxidants that tend to build up in the retina of the eye.

Studies show that consuming adequate amounts of these nutrients can significantly reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration, two very common eye disorders.

Egg yolks actually contain large amounts of both Lutein and Zeaxanthin.

In one controlled trial, eating just 1.3 egg yolks per day for 4.5 weeks increased blood levels of Lutein by 28-50% and Zeaxanthin by 114-142%.

Eggs are also high in Vitamin A, which deserves another mention here. Vitamin A deficiency is the most common cause of blindness in the world.

4. Eggs Are Highly Fulfilling and Can Make You Eat Fewer Calories

As mentioned eggs are a high protein food… and protein is by far the most fulfilling macronutrient.

Eggs score high on a scale called the Satiety Index, which measures the ability of foods to induce feelings of fullness and reduce subsequent calorie intake.

In one study of 30 overweight women, eating eggs instead of bagels for breakfast increased feelings of fullness and made them automatically eat fewer calories for the next 36 hours.

In another study, replacing a bagel breakfast with an egg breakfast caused significant weight loss over a period of 8 weeks.

As you can see there are numerous benefits to eating more eggs. They are pretty much nature’s perfect food.

On top of everything else, they are also cheap, easy to prepare, and taste awesome.

14. Yo-Yo
The ancient Greeks are known for many wonderful creations and inventions, but as a vase from 440 B.C. shows, they were apparently masters of recreation and finding ways to entertain themselves too. How so? Well, because this vase shows a woman playing with an object that is clearly a Yo-Yo. That's right, apparently, Yo-Yo's were around in 440 BC, and the Greeks seemed to love them so much that they put them into art pieces.

13. Diagnosis: Earwax
Whether it was the Greeks, the Romans, the Chinese, Egyptians, or any other famous culture in between, there are always unique medical practices that you can find from their early days. In regards to the Greeks, they had a very interesting practice where if you were sick, the doctor wouldn't start checking you out until he had a taste of your earwax.

11. Female Eyebrows
That's not to say that ancient Greece didn't have certain philosophies and beliefs for the female body, because goddesses were also represented. But they were especially interested in their eyebrows. For unlike today, where a unibrow is frowned upon in terms of beauty, the Greeks really liked them.

10. To Wipe, Or Not To Wipe
When it comes to thinking about times before modern amenities, one of the biggest topics brought up is about toilet paper. After all, toilet paper wasn't widely circulated until the 1800's, so that's thousands of years of people having to go to the bathroom and not having toilet paper, so what did people like the ancient Greeks use when they had to go?

9. Athletic Sweat Perks
Greek culture revered their sports athletes, after all, this is the civilization that created the Olympics. But in some ways, it was more than just reverence, the very bodies and fluids of these athletes were believed to be gifts straight from the gods and everything they emitted was mystical, including their sweat.

7. A Fine Wine
When you think about ancient Greeks, you probably think that this culture loved to have social events and parties, and that they would drink heavily all the time. While it's true that ancient Greeks loved their wines, they rarely drank them as they were. Meaning, they would actually dilute the wine with water to ensure that they didn't get drunk.

5. Musically Inclined
The men of Greece were known to be athletes, and warriors, and of course, politicians, but what many don't know is that a vast majority of male Greeks, regardless of their social status or job, were very well versed in music. In fact, it's said that most men in Greece knew how to play at least one musical instrument, if not more.

4. Spartan Romance
The Spartan culture was a very intense one, and that applied not only to their training (which led them to be some of the best warriors in the world) but how they got married, and what would happen when they did.

3. Olympics Are Not For The Married
This is an odd custom that was discovered about ancient Greece. Mainly, if you were a married woman, you could NOT watch the Olympics, at all.

2. Political Exile
Politicians are a group of people that are both respected and despised, and this isn't just from the modern world. Ancient Greece had that problem too. Remember, the Greeks were the creators of democracy, and they made positions to help the will of the people be known, ergo: politicians. However, the Greeks had the never changing issue of politicians becoming corrupt in their position, and trying to amass power.

45th video of the Behind the Business Series.

While tech billionaires like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos might be the richest men in the world today, the title of richest capitalist to have ever lived goes to a man, who died almost a century ago: John Rockefeller.

In the late 19th century John Rockefeller used his quick wits and leadership skills to build an impressive oil refinery in Cleveland. In the early days of the oil industry technology was inefficient and bankruptcies were everywhere, but John optimized the refining process successfully. Over time, he bought out competitors until he had total control over the oil industry in Cleveland through his company: Standard Oil of Ohio.

In the decades afterwards Rockefeller purchased refineries across America and even negotiated backroom deals with the big railroad tycoons. At its peak Standard Oil was worth up to $1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion dollars) in today's money, with Rockefeller controlling over 90% of the oil industry in America.

Of course, eventually new oil deposits were uncovered in Asia and Russia, challenging Rockefeller's monopoly. Back at home concerned businessmen funded waves of media opposition to Standard Oil, which was eventually broken up in 1911. The numerous companies created during this split would eventually merge back together, bringing huge profits to Rockefeller in his final years.

Upon his death, Rockefeller's net worth was an estimated $400 billion in today's dollars, making him the wealthiest businessman to have ever lived by a wide margin.

Kegel Exercises For Men: How the Private Gym Program Works

The Private Gym is the first ever FDA registered pelvic exercise program for men of all ages. We worked with the leading experts in the world to develop the first fitness program to target, train and strengthen the male pelvic muscles.

The prostate, bladder and penis are controlled by a complex set of pelvic muscles. These are the same muscles you use when you stop yourself from urinating. These muscles are weak to begin with and get weaker with age. Weak pelvic muscles can result in erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and soft erections.

The Private Gym Program isolates and strengthens these important pelvic muscles. It's an interactive, follow along DVD and online exercise program that guides you week by week. Our expertly designed Kegel exercises for men start with the basic flex and become progressively harder each week. Once you achieve initial pelvic muscle strength, we then add the resistance equipment to the program.

The world is full of a ton of awesome creatures and critters. Some are so small we can barely see them, and others large enough to crush a car!

Some animals are definitely less common, and we might not have the opportunity to see them all the time. There are rare breeds of rabbits, and cows with giant horns, and you may not have known that they exist in real life!

Hello guys and today I will show you 10 coolest animals in the world

Glaucus Atlanticus or the Blue Dragon
These little dragon-like creatures are often only about a few inches long and can be found in the Indian Pacific Oceans. It’s silvery grey on its dorsal side and dark and pale blue ventrally. It has dark blue stripes on its head. It has a flat, tapering body and six appendages that branch out into rayed, finger-like cerata.

Angora Rabbit
These cute, fluffy rabbits are among the hairiest breeds of rabbit of both wild and domestic types. These rabbits originated in Turkey although managed to spread throughout Europe and was even brought to the United States in the 20th century. These rabbits are often bred for their soft wool which can be made into clothing, and often get rid of their own coats every 3-4 months.

The axolotl or Mexican salamander (who looks like a Pokémon) is often spotted in lakes in various places around Mexico. These little salamanders are amphibious although often spend their adult lives strictly in the water.

Bearded Vulture
I don't know about you all, but this vulture reminds me of a phoenix which was initially why I looked into the creature. These vultures inhabit a range of places from southern Europe to the Indian subcontinent, to Tibet. This vulture, like other vultures, typically eats dead animals, although it has been documented that the bearded vulture will attack live prey more often than other vultures.

Pink Fairy Armadillo
The pink fairy armadillo is the smallest and cutest species of armadillo. It is on the list of threatened species and is found in the sandy plains, dunes, and grasslands of Argentina.

The okapi is an animal native to the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. Although the stripes make many people believe okapi are related to zebra, they are actually closer to giraffe. Okapi are solitary creatures and come together to breed. They are herbivores, mostly eating leaves, grass, and other plants.

Red Panda
This cute, small panda lives in the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. The red panda is rather small, only about the same size as most domestic cats. Its eating habits range from bamboo, to eggs, to insects, and several other small mammals.

Superb Bird of Paradise
The superb bird-of-paradise is a species of the Paradisaeidae family. It is the only member in the genus Lophorina. It’s a small, approximately 26 cm (10 in) long, (passerine) bird. The male is black with an iridescent green crown, blue-green breast cover and a long velvety black erectile cape covering his back. The female is a reddish-brown bird with brownish barred buff below. The young is similar to the female. The superb bird-of-paradise are a dimorphic species.

The Ankole-Watusi
