Natural Ways to Boost Testosterone

Naturally increasing your T is a priority for a lot of athletes but there are a lot of misconceptions around how to do it and what it does.

(Note: The content on BarBend is meant to be informative in nature, but it should not be taken as medical advice. The opinions and articles in this video are not intended for use as diagnosis, prevention, and/or treatment of health problems. Speak with your physician if you have any concerns.)

Thanks to Dr. Mike Israetel for appearing in this video. Learn more about his company here:

Many like to lift weights with the goal of boosting T, but while lifting has pretty profound effects on your growth hormone and a bunch of other hormones and responses that are conducive to building muscle, the link with testosterone isn't that strong. Research suggests it probably only increases by 10 percent and it's a very temporary effect.

Injecting anabolic steroids will give you a lot more testosterone than the body would ever produce on its own, and that has links to muscle. But naturally increasing your T, moving your levels around the healthy range, doesn't have much of an effect on muscle.

* See our list of the 7 best mass gainers on the market: *

But if you're low on T and want to have healthy levels?

Vitamin D gets a lot of publicity for helping optimize testosterone levels. Getting enough zinc also helps.

Getting enough dietary fat, especially essential fatty acids, also has a link. But then again so does getting enough carbohydrates and calories.

The main goal should be to eat enough for your activity level and to get a broad spectrum of nutrients.

* See our list of the best men's multivitamins: *

Get plenty of sleep, manage your stress levels, and yes, staying active will likely help as well.

Over the counter supplements are unlikely to meaningfully increase your testosterone.

D-aspartic acid is a popular one that early research found to be promising, but it seems more likely that the increase is 30 to 60 percent and your T returns to baseline after a few weeks of usage.

DHEA is another, but the vast majority of positive studies have only been on postmenopausal women.

If testosterone is a priority, eat a healthy, varied diet; manage your stress and sleep; and it's probably worth exercising regularly. (If nothing else it'll improve your sleep quality.)

Above all, if you're worried about your hormonal health, talk to a doctor.

How to Boost Testosterone Naturally - 6 WAYS

6 Ways to Boost Testosterone Naturally?

Testosterone is a male hormone which is responsible for the growth of muscle mass. It is responsible for the growth of hair on your body. It improves sex drive, bone density and strength.
Our body produces testosterone naturally. But because of poor lifestyle, low test levels in males is a common problem. Because of which they find it difficult to build muscles. They start to lose out hair at a very early age and many other problems. Some people inject testosterone in the form of drugs. We must know that once we start doing this, our body stops producing testosterone naturally. This is not an ideal condition and it has a lot of side effects.

So in this video I’m going to share with you 6 ways by which you can boost your testosterone naturally.

#1 WAY - NUTRITION - 00:51

The foods that we eat impact our hormones in a positive or a negative way. Needless to say, one should maintain a balanced diet. Specifically talking about testosterone, there are three ingredients that should be in your diet on a daily basis. These are Zinc, Vitamin D and Fats.

#2 WAY - EXERCISE - 02:00

The right type of exercise can have a dramatic effect on the production of testosterone. Specially weight training, when done even 3 to 4 times a week can boost your testosterone levels considerably. Studies have suggested that the higher the intensity of workout is, the greater will the response of testosterone.

#3 WAY - SLEEP - 02:41

When it comes to sleep, it is always about quality and not quantity. After you wake up in the morning from a good sound sleep, your test levels are at peak and slowly they drop by the evening. In order to have deep sleep, you can do two things.

#4 WAY - REDUCE STRESS - 03:14

When we are stressed out, our body produces a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol is inversely proportional to testosterone. That means the higher the level of cortisol in the body, the lower will be the testosterone. Apart from this, there are many disadvantages of having a high cortisol levels in the body. So one should make an effort to reduce the stress levels.

Now, there are 3 things that you should avoid or keep them in moderation when it comes to boosting your testosterone levels. All three effect the body in such a way that it starts producing less amount of testosterone.

# 6 WAY - LOSE WEIGHT - 03:58

If you are overweight, shedding a few kilos can increase your testosterone levels. According to studies, overweight men are more likely to have low testosterone levels. So basically, if you follow the points that we have already discussed, you will be able to optimise your bodyweight.

Best Foods To Boost Your Testosterone Levels : Top Testosterone Boosting Foods

Testosterone is a male sex hormone that affects more than just sex drive.
It is also responsible for
Bone and muscle health,
Sperm production,
And hair growth.
Testosterone secretion reduces as a person grows older, as well as from chronic illnesses. Hypogonadism, also called low testosterone is often medically treated to prevent future health problems.
An overall balancing of hormones is important to manage testosterone levels. This means consuming a well-balanced, nutrient-dense diet.
Being mindful of the total intake of foods containing hormones or hormone-mimicking nutrients, such as phytoestrogens, is recommended to achieve improved testosterone levels.
Some studies have shown these nutrients may have an effect on overall hormone balance.
Along with your doctor’s recommendations, you may consider potential testosterone-boosting foods as a natural complement to low Testosterone treatments.

INCREASE Testosterone Naturally for men (how I doubled mine)

After finding out that I had low testosterone, I started researching how to naturally increase and boost my testosterone levels. Most of the advice I received wasn't very helpful and I was doing most of the primary recommendations, such as leading a healthy lifestyle, training, and I don't drink or smoke. As such it seemed that any changes on top of this would be minimal.

However as I started researching this topic, I discovered that actually there were lots of ways I could potentially improve my testosterone levels, and I created a list of 9 different areas that were actionable that I could immediately implement into my lifestyle.

I have shared these with you in this video, and so far I've doubled my testosterone levels in a short space of time, and hope to continue to build on this.

Fight the hormonal drop that occurs as you age with the following testosterone-boosting tips.

Step 1: Up your zinc
Eat foods high in zinc, such as oysters, beef, liver, crab, seafood, nuts and seeds, salmon, cheese, beans, and yogurt. Zinc may help prevent testosterone from being converted into estrogen, the female hormone.

Up your intake of Vitamins A, B, C, and E and Omega 3, as well.

Step 2: Eliminate toxins
Avoid pesticides, artificial growth hormone, and steroids commonly found in commercially grown food. These chemicals contain xenoestrogens -- man-made estrogens that lower testosterone. Choose organic meat and produce instead.

Step 3: Lose weight
Reduce your body fat to reduce estrogen and increase testosterone. Lose weight gradually --1 to 3 pounds a week.

Lift weights to work several large muscle groups. Bench presses produce more testosterone than bicep curls.

Step 4: Hit the sack early
Sleep a minimum of 6 hours each night -- eight hours is better. Men who get little sleep produce less testosterone than men who sleep at least 6 hours.

Step 5: Unwind
Stop worrying and control your temper to lower your stress level and minimize your body's production of cortisol, a stress hormone that shuts down testosterone production.

Step 6: Wear loose clothes
Wear loose clothes to keep genitals cool -- and testosterone production running strong.

Avoid long, hot baths and hot tubs, which can also overheat your genitals and inhibit testosterone production.

Step 7: Get aroused
Boost testosterone by seeking sexual stimulation as often as possible. Getting an erection causes testosterone to rise significantly -- and is perhaps the most entertaining way to increase the male hormone!

Did You Know?
Young, healthy men produce up to 7 milligrams of testosterone each day.

8 Ways to Raise Testosterone Naturally

In men, testosterone is a hormone produced primarily by the testicles. As men age, testosterone levels decline. By age 30, stress, lack of exercise, highly processed foods and exposure to xenoestrogens (synthetic chemicals that have estrogenic effects like those found in pesticides) depletes testosterone levels.Low testosterone levels contribute to infertility, loss of lean body mass, increased body fat, moodiness and even hot flashes. Yes, men have hot flashes too.

In the past two decades the norm for blood levels of testosterone in men has dropped dramatically. Most men have no idea what their testosterone levels were when they were young and virile.

(1:00) Signs of low testosterone

In severe cases, bio-identical testosterone replacement therapy can be prescribed by an experienced health practitioner. Yet high doses and continual use will diminish your natural ability to make testosterone.

Here are 8 Ways to Naturally Increase Testosterone Levels:

(1:32) Lose Body Fat
(2:20) Exercise Almost Every Day
(3:11) Get Enough Sunshine
(3:41) Consume Enough Zinc
(4:15) Eat Enough Healthy Fat
(5:02) Get Enough Protein
(5:39) Reduce Stress
(6:17) Balance Your Hypothalamus

My male patients who take Genesis Gold® consistently experience increased libido, more energy, deeper sleep, increased endurance, leaner body mass, and increased strength. Plus their wives and significant others notice more motivation and less irritability, and the men seem to communicate at a deeper level.

Those men who add Genesis Gold® to their testosterone replacement regimen find that they get more bang for their buck. They need less testosterone as their receptor sites heal and allow testosterone into their cells from optimal functioning. They have less estrogen conversion which means less weight gain as fat and more lean body mass. They have less dihydrotestosterone conversion which means less hair loss. Many are able to get off their testosterone replacement as they begin making their own testosterone after months of taking Genesis Gold®.*

8 Proven Ways To Increase Testosterone Levels Naturally

How to boost testosterone naturally? There are many misconceptions when it comes to testosterone. Some people connect it with aggressive behavior; some believe that the more testosterone a man has, the more “macho” he is. In any case, there are men who want to have as much testosterone in their system as possible. Luckily, it's not that difficult.
- As you know, exercising regularly can help you avoid many diseases connected with a sedentary lifestyle. Surprisingly, it will also boost testosterone levels!
- The level of testosterone in your body depends on how stressed you are. Here is the connection: if you're suffering from long-term stress, the level of cortisol (a stress hormone) goes up. The higher the level of cortisol, the lower the level of testosterone.
- According to one famous saying, you are what you eat. Interestingly, your testosterone level also depends on what you eat. Both severe dieting and overeating can disrupt testosterone production.
- The importance of vitamin D has come to light in recent years. It’s no wonder, as it has a lot of advantages and health benefits. For example, it works as a natural booster of testosterone.
- Getting the proper amount of high-quality sleep is a necessary condition for increasing testosterone levels. Sure, everybody has their own perfect sleep duration. But a 2011 study into the effect that one week of sleep restriction had on the testosterone levels of healthy young men showed interesting results.
- Certain vitamins and supplements can also boost the production of testosterone. For example, magnesium supplements will restore the levels of testosterone if the cause of the drop is a deficiency of this mineral.
- There are also herbs and spices that can effectively boost your testosterone level. The best ones are ashwagandha and ginger.
- Testosterone levels can be negatively affected by estrogen-like chemicals. If you’re overexposed to parabens, BPA, and some chemicals often found in plastic, try to reduce this exposure to a minimum.
- When your doctor prescribes medicine, you can be sure that it’ll help you deal with a particular health condition. Unfortunately, medications are a pretty common reason for low testosterone levels.
- According to several studies, there's a connection between how much a man weighs and his testosterone levels. Men who are a bit on the heavy side have less testosterone than those whose weight is within the norms.

Be part of the family by subscribing so that you do not miss whenever a new post is uploaded.
Low levels of testosterone also affect sexual function, causing reduced sexual drive and infertility.
8 Natural ways to boost testosterone level.
The best way to improve testosterone levels is by adopting some lifestyle habits that can improve overall health and well-being.
1. Getting enough sleep
Lack of sleep can adversely affect the levels of hormones and chemicals that the body needs to function correctly, including testosterone.
One study from the University of Chicago found that testosterone levels can drop in men who do not get enough sleep.
Making sleep a priority may help maintain testosterone levels. People should aim to sleep at least 7 to 8 hours each night. Anyone having problems getting good quality sleep on a regular basis should talk to their doctor.
2. Maintain a balanced diet
Research has long shown that eating well is essential to maintaining testosterone levels and overall health. According to one report in the Journal of Neuroin flammation, low testosterone levels and being overweight may contribute to a variety of inflammatory conditions and impaired neurological function.
The best diets are ones that include mostly whole foods and offer a healthful balance of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. Eating a healthful and nutritious diet can keep all hormones levels in the body balanced and promote optimal long-term health.
3. Lose weight
Research has shown that men who carry more weight have lower levels of testosterone. One study in the journal Clinical Endocrinology reported that some obese males between the ages of 14 and 20 have up to 50 percent less testosterone than those who are not overweight.
4. Exercise and Lift Weights
Exercise is one of the most effective ways to prevent many lifestyle-related diseases. Interestingly, it can also boost your testosterone.
A large review study found that people who exercised regularly had higher testosterone levels. In the elderly, exercise increases testosterone levels, fitness and reaction time.
In fact, the same study found that long-distance runners may experience low testosterone levels. The researchers speculated that this might be due to inadequate energy and improper nutrition.
5. Minimize Stress and Cortisol Levels
Research is always highlighting the dangers of long-term stress, which can elevate levels of the hormone cortisol.
Unnatural elevations in cortisol can quickly reduce testosterone. These hormones work in a seesaw-like manner: as one goes up, the other comes down.
Stress and high cortisol can also increase food intake, weight gain and the storage of harmful body fat around your organs. In turn, these changes may negatively impact your testosterone levels.
6. Review medications.
While prescription medications can help manage a variety of health conditions, they are one of the most common reasons for low testosterone.
According to one report in BMC Medicine, statins, which are medications that lower cholesterol, may partially operate by reducing testosterone.
Anyone who suspects’ low testosterone is due to prescribed medications should bring these concerns to their doctor’s attention.
7. Avoid drugs and alcohol abuse
Abuse of drugs and alcohol has been linked to lower testosterone.
According to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, alcohol use affects the glands and hormones involved in male reproductive health.
Further, alcohol can cause low testosterone levels due to the effects it has on the body, including causing hormonal reactions and cell damage.
8. Take Some of These Natural Testosterone Boosters
Only a few natural testosterone boosters are supported by scientific studies. The herb with the most research behind it is called Ashwagandha.
One study tested the effects of this herb on infertile men and found a 17 percent increase in testosterone levels
In healthy men, Ashwagandha increased levels by 15 percent. Another study found it lowered cortisol by around 25%, which may also aid testosterone Ginger extract may also boost your levels.
