The Reason Why Many Educated People Are POOR

When I was 15, I started dreaming of becoming an Accountant. Though at this time I had my own little business, since nobody in my immediate environment talked about entrepreneurship, I didn’t even know that any poor boy like me could build a company. So, I wanted to work for a company as an accountant. Since I wanted to be a great accountant, I looked for a newspaper and cut out the image of one of the most successful bankers in those days. I pasted his photo in my room where I saw it every day. I also read about him and discovered that he was a professor of Accounting and a professor of Economics. Now I have a road map. Since my idol was a professor of Accounting and Economics, I started dreaming of becoming a professor of Accounting and Economics.

How America's public schools keep kids in poverty | Kandice Sumner

Why should a good education be exclusive to rich kids? Schools in low-income neighborhoods across the US, specifically in communities of color, lack resources that are standard at wealthier schools -- things like musical instruments, new books, healthy school lunches and soccer fields -- and this has a real impact on the potential of students. Kandice Sumner sees the disparity every day in her classroom in Boston. In this inspiring talk, she asks us to face facts -- and change them.

What causes poverty? | Rich Dad Poor Dad | Robert Kiyosaki | Ep # 1/9

Mr. Smart often explores why people are poor. Why does poverty exist? What are the causes of poverty in reality? Keeping the political debate aside, let us understand why the people are poor from an economic and behavioral point of view. Let us explore what are the reasons for poverty? Are the people poor because of their own behavior or adverse circumstances? What are in fact the root causes of poverty? Or one may ask what are the factors of poverty? Mr. Smart thinks that the reality is in between these two extremes. Sometimes, people make their circumstances adverse by their own behavior and negligence. For instance, a spoiled child may end up living in a makeshift home after losing all his inherited wealth in gambling.

However, we can find many cases in which adverse circumstances induce poverty and negligent behavior. For example, we cannot expect much from a kid raised by a drug-addicted, single mother who got pregnant in her teenage. Later, she supported herself by prostituting and selling drugs. In reality, these are the causes of poverty.

Now, we have explored the main causes of poverty? But, what actually poverty is? World Bank defines $1.9 a day as the poverty line. It means that any person having less than $1.9 a day is extremely poor. Watch the video to know more.

The REAL Reason Why Most Employees Are Poor

Join Money TV Here;

I'm an African and since when I was a kid, I can't remember a year when there was no industrial strike or fight for a minimum wage increase in my country.
Most employees simply believe that the reason why they are poor is that they are not being paid enough by their employers.
Well, that seems to be a reasonable argument until you try to look at the root of the problem.
I wish this video doesn't offend some people (because I'm a gentle guy, hahahaha!) But I'll try and tell you some real reasons why you may be poor as an employee.

The Reason Why Many Educated People Are Poor

The Reason Why Many Educated People Are Poor

The War on Poverty: Overcoming Government Dependence in America

You’re invited to join The Heritage Foundation and the Texas Public Policy Foundation for a discussion on overcoming poverty in America. Our three panels will feature scholars from across the country working to advance policies that move away from dependence on government and move toward civil society solutions, as well as several contributors to The Heritage Foundation’s new edited volume, The Not-So-Great-Society, which will be made available to attendees.

AGENDA
PANEL I – 9:45-10:30AM – Overcoming Poverty in America

After more than a half century, the Great Society has little to show for helping Americans overcome poverty and dependence on government for their welfare. Focus on poverty as a merely material problem has largely missed the deeper needs often at the root of hardship: relational breakdown and detachment from work. What can we do – both in policy and in private efforts – to change this and help more Americans overcome poverty?

Panel:
Jennifer Marshall (Moderator) – Senior Visiting Fellow, The Heritage Foundation

Cindy Casey – Director of Client Services – Client Strategies, Catholic Charities Fort Worth

Shannon Rosedale – Opportunity Assessment Coordinator, Catholic Charities Fort Worth

PANEL II – 10:45-11:30AM – Uncle Sam Goes to School: The “Great Society” Education Programs after Half a Century

When President Lyndon Johnson launched his War on Poverty through his Great Society speech on May 22, 1964 at the University of Michigan, he said that there were “three places where we begin to build the Great Society — in our cities, in our countryside, and in our classrooms.” Thus, launched more than half a century of federal education programs and spending, from preschool through graduate school. This panel examines the impact of those policies 55 years later.

Panel :
The Honorable Chuck DeVore (Moderator) – VP of National Initiatives, Texas Public Policy Foundation

Lindsey Burke – Director, Center for Education Policy, The Heritage Foundation

Corey DeAngelis – Director of School Choice, Reason Foundation
Dan Lips – Visiting Fellow, Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity

PANEL III – 11:45AM-12:30PM – Great Hearts are What Make a Great Society

Unfortunately – or perhaps predictably – the introduction of the federal government into the infinitely complicated domain of what and how children learn has not led to educational improvement. Moving away from failed “Great Society” policies to make space for civil society options, such as the Great Hearts classical charter school network in the K-12 space, and innovative college financing options like income share agreements in the higher education space, are meeting the needs of families through higher quality, non-governmental solutions.

Panel:
Thomas Lindsay, Ph.D. (Moderator) – Director, Center for Innovation in Education, Texas Public Policy Foundation

Emily Sass – Policy Director, Center for Innovation in Education, Texas Public Policy Foundation

Robert Jackson – Chief Academic Office, Great Hearts America and Director of the Institute for Classical Education

Andrew Gillen – Senior Policy Analyst, Texas Public Policy Foundation
