Donald Trump's full turkey pardon, 2018

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump participate in the presentation of the National Thanksgiving turkey at the White House.

Either Peas or Carrots will be the lucky recipient of a presidential pardon Tuesday -- not that either has committed a crime -- but the well-timed reprieve at least means retirement for the Thanksgiving turkeys to the relative freedom and comfort of a Virginia farm.

Trump heckled as he 'pardons' Thanksgiving Turkey

DONALD Trump was heckled with cries of will you pardon yourself? as he pardoned White House turkey ‘Corn’ on Tuesday afternoon.

Just moments after Trump concluded the annual National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation at the White House, reporters shouted out questions as the president and First Lady Melania walked away.

Pardons before leaving office. Will you be issuing a pardon for yourself, one reporter is heard yelling out.

Another said: Mr President, will you invite President-elect Biden?

The reporters' questions come as Trump may use his final days as president to issue a cascade of pardons for himself – a move he has previously hinted he would do.

The annual turkey event was held in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington, DC.

Trump - who is facing a series of legal challenges when he leaves the White House - ignored the remarks and continued thanking the audience, smiling, and waving.

The president issued a full pardon on a very, very fortunate turkey, he said - adding: Because Thanksgiving is a special day for turkeys - I guess, probably for the most part, not a very good one when you think about.

Pres. Trump Pardons National Thanksgiving Turkey | LIVE | NowThis

TRUMP'S FINAL TURKEY PARDON: Pres. Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hold their final turkey pardoning ceremony before they leave the White House in January. The birds, named ‘Corn’ and ‘Cob,’ were raised in a special heated and air-conditioned building in Walcott, IA and have been staying at The Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C. The public votes to choose which turkey will receive the official presidential pardon, but both Corn and Cob will return to Iowa and spend the rest of their days in the care of Iowa State University’s Animal Science department.

During the turkey pardoning ceremony in 2018, Trump joked that though the turkey ‘Carrots’ had lost to ‘Peas’ in a free and fair election on the White House website, Carrots ‘refused to concede and demanded a recount.’ Video clips from that day have been widely reshared as Trump continues to refuse to acknowledge his own election loss, tweeting again last night that he will 'never concede.' This is one of few public appearances Pres. Trump has made since Election Day.
