You Can't Reheat Some Foods Under Any Circumstances

Is it safe to microwave your food? Let's imagine you went out to dinner last night. Chances are you brought home the leftovers and they’re sitting in your fridge right now. But before you break out the styrofoam carton, pop it in the microwave, and chow down, you should know that there are some foods that actually turn poisonous when reheated!

No matter how tasty and healthy your freshly prepared meal is, it can lose its health benefits and even cause food poisoning if you reheat it in a microwave. Bright Side introduces to you a list of foods that you should eat as soon as they’re cooked.

- Whether they’re in a soup or stir-fry, reheating mushrooms in the microwave or on the stove is a big no-no. The change in composition can cause you to have an upset stomach, and they also lose their health benefits.
- Similarly to mushrooms, eggs are packed with protein that changes once it’s reheated. This can wreak havoc on your digestive system. In fact, eggs can become toxic when exposed to a microwave’s high temperatures.
- Even if the rice is cooked, boiling water won’t kill the bacteria. After the rice cools off to room temperature, its bacteria spores can multiply, and reheating it just keeps the bacteria alive. The longer it sat at room temperature, the more likely it is to contain harmful bacteria.
- When it’s time to reheat the breast milk, you should never heat it in a microwave because the uneven distribution of heat can create hot spots in the milk, which can seriously burn the poor baby who drinks it.
- Just like mushrooms, reheating chicken can change the food’s protein compounds and make you very sick. Unlike other meat (like beef), chicken contains a high amount of protein, which makes reheating it in the microwave a bad idea.
- If you place cooked potatoes directly into the fridge after cooking them, it’s probably safe to reheat them. However, if they sit out at room temperature for a while after they’re prepared, they’re more likely to develop a rare bacteria known as botulism.
- While nitrites are dangerous for adults, they’re incredibly dangerous for infants from 0 to 6 months. If they do ingest food with nitrites, they are more likely to develop “blue baby syndrome,” which can be fatal.
- Before you stick a leftover sandwich in the microwave, don’t forget to remove any toothpicks the restaurant may have stuck in there! Along with items with sharp tips, metal is a big no-no when it comes to microwave cooking.

Simply feeling a little sad can make us think that we're depressed, but that's not always the case…or is it? Let's find out what signs are hinting that you might actually be suffering from “the plague of the 21st century”.

The most common signs of depression are the following: you constantly feel down and tired. Your self-esteem has hit rock bottom. You have concentration and memory problems and troubles sleeping. Your weight changes, it can go either way: you all of a sudden gain several pounds or your weight drops drastically. Nothing, including your favorite food, TV show, video game, or even meeing up with your besties, brings you pleasure. You experience mood swings, and you can suddenly become extremely short-tempered with a lack of basic tolerance. Your health deteriorates. It's really common for depressed people to suddenly start experiencing aches and pains, most frequently in the joints or back.

If at least 3 to 4 signs hit home for you, it most likely means that you have some form of depression. Basically, the more signs you’re showing, the more depressed you are.

The first thing you have to do is go to the doctor. According to psychotherapist Sean Grover, there are steps you can take in three areas of your life to make your mental state better. The first thing to take care of is your body. Start doing 30-minute workouts at least 3 times a week, get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, and add more of your favorite foods to your diet, especially sugary ones. The second and equally important part is your mind. Try to explore the world around you as if you never have before. Finally, your spirit should also get a dose of treatment too. The best thing you can do here is meditation. Through it, you can learn to understand and listen to yourself on a deeper level.

-You’ll constantly dwell on your past failures, and your mind will be flooded with memories of every stupid mistake you’ve ever made.

-You have no energy and feel like you could spend the whole day in bed.
-Your weight can go either way too: you all of a sudden gain several pounds or your weight drops drastically.
-You’re constantly bored, tired, and have no desire to do your life-long hobby or meet up with your best friend.
-When you're depressed, you constantly feel sad, anxious, or irritated and you probably can’t even explain why.
-Emotional outbursts and a constant feeling of hopelessness throw not only your weight out of whack but your overall health too.
-Take good care of your body and mind. Try to explore the world around you as if you never have before. Your spirit should also get a dose of treatment too with meditation.
-“Seasonal depression” can be treated with natural substances. Experts also recommend to start seeing a doctor earlier and doing it regularly.

- Though margarine is marketed as a healthy alternative to butter most of the time, the amount of processing that goes into it makes it far less healthy in the long run than regular butter - which is, in most cases, a concentrated solid of dairy fat.
- Doctors have discussed how boutique fruit juices don’t give you any of the nutritional benefits that eating full fruits and veggies will, but will still have you ingesting a lot of calories in a short amount of time.
- Although they’re made of meat, sausages and hot dogs are low in protein, which is a nutrient you definitely want to be getting out of your meat products whenever you eat them.
- Though most variations of ramen noodles are low in calories per serving, they also lack significant nutritional value; in some cases, they’ve even been fortified with synthetic versions of nutritional elements you’d find in fruit and veggies, like iron and B vitamins.
- Grains found in Lunchables are also refined, meaning that the bran and germ found organically within the grains is mechanically removed.
- Doughnuts are deep-fried and smothered in sugar, which may fuel you for a while, but the high refined sugar content will lead to a horrible crash later on in the day.
- Raw oysters may be carriers of food-borne illnesses.
- Regular soda often contains a lot of calories that you’ll be drinking quickly, which is basically liquefying your daily intake.
- Many people suffer from gluten intolerance and feel sick after consuming wheat products, with 1 in 100 people worldwide suffering from celiac disease, which is a severe gluten allergy.
- Spam is said to be made originally from pork, but it’s also made with lots of salt, bindings, and preservatives.
