How 2D Materials will Change Our 3D World | Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker | TEDxNashvilleWomen

Can you imagine a material so thin, it is only “one” atomic layer? 100,000 times thinner than human hair, yet 200 times stronger than its equivalent weight in steel, flexible and transparent?

In this entertaining talk, Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker takes us through the 2-Dimensional world of “Graphene”, one atomic layer of carbon that won the Nobel prize in physics in 2010. From lighter cars to transparent tattoos that can measure your heart rate and ECG, how will our lives be changed by this new species of material in the next 30 years? Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker is a condensed matter physicist, international graphene expert and an industrial business strategist. She has led the graphene commercialization efforts in the U.S. with a focus on bridging the gap between academia and industry, U.S. policy, EHS and development of international standards. She advocates for the “realistic” potential of novel materials in real world applications. First Graphene - INVEST 2018

Non-Executive Chairman Warwick Grigor was recently giving AXINO an interview on Germany's largest investor fair INVEST 2018 in Stuttgart.

Warwick just came from the IDTechEx Berlin, where he observed tremendous interest for the advanced material Graphene. He got a lot of enquiries from industries of all kind.

He pointed out some major advantages of this material. The additition of Graphene in the amount of just 1% to various materials can translate into 50-100% approval of products' conditions, such as strenght, conductivity and flexilbility. In fact, Graphene is non-toxic, and therefore fully environmental friendly.

First Graphene is one of the first and largest, if not the largest, producer of low cost high quality graphene globally. 2018 will be the first year for launching constant revenue streams.

However, Warwick rather sees First Graphene as a seller of licenses to the industry in the long run, and gaining royalty streams in return.

The graphene producer executed a strategic marketing agreement with Traxys Sarl., Luxembourg, last year, who is considered door opener for the natural resource industry globally.

If you haven't heard of Graphene, GrapheneCA tells you why its amazing!

GrapheneCA Head of Business Development David Robles dropped by the Vancouver studio of Proactive Investors to discuss the technology company that is integrating graphene into the real world using their own environmentally friendly production process.

Robles telling Proactive about the company's revenue streams and when they are expecting to be profitable.

Applied Graphene Materials PLC makes big technological advance as graphene traction builds

Applied Graphene Materials PLC (LON:AGM) has made two big strides forward in the past week, chief executive Adrian Potts told Proactive..

The company has cracked how to get graphene into water-based paints and coatings.

Potts says it was a big technical challenge, “but we’ve done it”.

Building materials firm Alltimes meanwhile has launched a new range of roofing products incorporating AGM’s graphene technology.

As a result, it has been able to extend its warranty on its products to thirty years, something unheard of before says Potts.

“Graphene is seeing real traction in a variety of areas,” he adds.

Dr Ian Flint on the ‘real’ graphene market

Dr Flint on using graphene membranes to reduce desalination cost by 50%

That’s what I am involved with right now. The company is Zero Energy Waters, one of my projects. What we are doing is, we are basically coating other substrates (with graphene) and using that as a direct replacement for membranes used in desalination plants. Graphene is only a few molecules thick. That means the pressure required to push water through that is very small whereas currently there is a lot of pressure required (to push water through membranes). So, you eliminate the pressure that is needed, so that you are saving maybe half the energy. Call that half the cost. At half the cost you make desalination from the ocean economical even for agriculture purpose. States Dr. Ian Flint, in an interview with InvestorIntel’s Tracy Weslosky.

Ian went on to debunk some of the myths related to graphene usage. He said that though graphene has the potential to help construct space elevators or make fight jets undetectable by radars, we currently do not have the technology to achieve these goals. Ian also talked about some of the exciting applications that are real for graphene currently. He said that graphene is currently used in membranes for desalination plants, as surface coatings because of graphene’s heat and electric conductivity properties and as an additive in various composites.

What’s up fam, on this channel we bring you the newest, hottest and most interesting investment opportunities of the current moment, and today we’ve got something pretty interesting to share with you, something many of you may think is too early to invest in and something some of you maybe even didn’t know existed.

We are talking about investing in graphene stocks.

But hold on …

What is graphene?

According to graphene is the thinnest material known to mankind at one atom thick, and also incredibly strong - about 200 times stronger than steel. On top of that, graphene is an excellent conductor of heat and electricity and has interesting light absorption abilities. It is truly a material that could change the world, with unlimited potential for integration in almost any industry.

It’s potential applications were really hyped up in the past and the media was going on and on about how graphene is the new wonder material that will make space elevators that get us to the moon and how space travel will become mainstream, and how the sweater your aunt gives you for Christmas is going to be bullet and stab proof, but it never really got there.

Off course this is not a science channel, but what makes this reaction possible is the fact that graphene is an extremely diverse material and can be combined with other elements (including gases and metals) to produce different materials with various superior properties. Researchers all over the world continue to constantly investigate and patent graphene to learn its various properties and possible applications, which include:

Touchscreens, transistors, computer chips, batteries, energy generation, supercapacitors, DNA sequencing, water filters, antennas, solar cells and spintronics-related products.

But to go back to the core of this video, investing in graphene stocks.
Not that long ago as we were doing some research for a client on some (graphene) stocks that were beaten down by the market, yet full of real-life long-term value we came across ZEN Graphene solutions (TSX: ZEN) (OTCQB: ZENYF).

So, in this video, specifically, we’ll tell you what exactly we see in their financials and we’ll even drop a couple of words on our opinion around the fundamentals for the company’s future.

AND, towards the end of the video we’ll even share with you whether we bought any shares of this graphene stock (TSX: ZEN) (OTCQB: ZENYF), or whether we’re maybe waiting for the price to drop even more before we put ZEN Graphene (TSX: ZEN) (OTCQB: ZENYF) on our to buy list over here at BABY. So, if you want our price target on the company make sure to watch this video until the end.

More specifically, in this video, I’ll give you the names and the basic fundamentals on FIVE graphene companies (stocks) that I am watching and by the time you’re watching this video maybe adding to my long-term stock market portfolio as I believe they could profit from graphene and its future. For each and every one of these graphene stocks,
I’ll also tell you how to best further your research into them and what tools to use to get the best data and information on them.

Now, for those of you that have no idea what, why and how GRAPHENE,
Let’s just say that Graphene is an allotrope of carbon in the form of a single layer of atoms in a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice in which one atom forms each vertex. It is the basic structural element of other allotropes, including graphite, charcoal, carbon nanotubes and fullerenes.
And if that doesn’t mean much, we do suggest you check a video made by Verge Science, called:
“Why graphene hasn’t taken over the world … YET”
and I’m sure that it will get you a few steps further. BUT, If it’s not enough, you could also check another video called: “Taking GRAPHENE out of the lab - the current state in 2019”,
made by the YouTube channel Subject Zero Science. In it you’ll find a deeper dive into what graphene is RIGHT NOW, and how we’re utilizing it today.
But, if you’re in a hurry, simply said graphene is the strongest material known to mankind as of the time of recording of this video. It’s also one of the most electrically and thermally conductive materials ever discovered so far. And believe it or not, it’s even the first 2D material, at just ONE atom thick. Graphene lets almost all light pass through, 97% to be specific. So, yeah, basically, graphene is a material that we could DEFINITELY be using 10 years from now to build all kind of cool and innovative technology so I definitely see the potential in investing in graphene and graphene stocks.

In this edition of The Motley Fool's Ask a Fool series, Motley Fool analysts Jason Moser and Brendan Mathews take a question from a reader who asks, What are some ideas on taking advantage of the future of graphene?

According to Brendan, there are no large, reputable, publicly-traded companies that will directly benefit from the potential of graphene. Of course, there is no shortage of penny stock promoters have surfaced to capitalize on the hype (and take advantage of individual investors).

Unfortunately, a large number of penny stocks and micro-cap stocks tend to work out badly for investors. Many of them have limited business operations, and their potential is just hype generated by unscrupulous promoters. Thus, Brendan and Jason suggest treading with caution -- or bet yet, avoid investing in any graphene-related penny stocks. Investing in penny stocks (whether related to graphene or not) is the most sure-fire way to lose money in the market.
