125 Yard Starling Shot with Air Rifle - Laser Rangefinder Demonstration

Laser rangefinders are very powerful tools for the long-range shooter. The one in this video is the Bushnell Yardage Pro 450. It is a budget model, but serves me well. There are much fancier models from Bushnell, as well as Leica, Leupold, Nikon, and others.

Here is a full list of Equipment for this video:

In this second part of our How Far Will a 9mm Kill? series we test the expansion characteristics of Federal HST 124gr ammunition at long range. We want to make it clear that, per the manufacturer, this ammunition is not designed to expand at extended ranges. We test the ammunition at 7 yards as a control, then proceed to dial in the artillery (KelTec Sub 2000) and drop some rounds in at 440 yards (400 meters). The results may surprise you...

Shooting Pigeons in Flight with FX Revolution

This is a re-upload. Warner Music Group had a hissy fit about the 20 seconds of Ride of the Valkyries that I used in the original version of this video. I disputed the claim - they won. So, rather than let them have creative control of my video, I pulled it. I used this opportunity to trim the fat out of the original (too much talking), before reuploading. I used a ROYALTY FREE version of the Wagner melody this time around (see below).

Music used in this video:
Tchaikovsky - Dance of the sugar plum fairies by Kevin MacLeod

Wagner - Ride of the valkyries (1921 Recording by American Symphony Orchestra - Edison Records)

My official review for the FX Revolution (Revo) can be found here:
Part 1:
Part 2:

Ahhh, the pure enjoyment of a semi-automatic airgun. In this video I attempt to shoot pigeons out of the sky. When you view the video, it seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to pluck them out of mid air, but this is not Nintendo Duck Hunt. The birds are moving very fast, requiring a substantial lead with the shot. They also change direction rapidly. And no matter how thick a flock of pigeons looks, there is MUCH more open space than pigeon space.

I realize that many may attempt to use this video to demonize me - calling me a hypocrite for not adhering to the one shot, one kill philosophy. I knew that making it might haunt me. But, with a semi-auto, I could unload on any animals not killed with the first shot (as luck would have it, this was not needed). This is something I can not do with my single shot. And this is also something that every bird hunter on earth must deal with. I've shot countless ducks and pheasants with a perfectly-placed shotgun blast - yet it still required a 2nd shot to finish them off. It's just the way it is. Anyone who says otherwise is blowing smoke.

Had I winged a bird, it would not have suffered long at all considering the rapid-fire accuracy of this gun. And I made certain to not fire on any that were flying over the corn field, so as not to lose them.

I'm always torn between making long explanations [like this one] of my actions, or just getting to the footage. If I preach too long - folks get bored. If I don't mention anything, others assume the worst and label me a demon or hypocrite.

I try to explain my actions - but, make no apologies.

So, enough of that.....

Pigeon Hunting 100 Yards in 25mph Wind (Slow Motion Lesson)

This is Part 1 of a three-part series showing how to make long distance shots with an airgun in high wind. Part 2 shows the data you need and how to estimate it. Part 3 shows how to put that data to work using [free] ballistics software. Visit my channel page to see all three.

This video was captured February 15, 2011 in rural Wisconsin. It shows me hunting pigeons with my .22 PCP air rifle in very high wind (20-30mph or 9-13m/s). This is part 1 of a two-part series re: this hunt. This first part will simply show the shots taken. The 2nd part will dive into the ballistics of how to make these kinds of shots, including how I use Chairgun Pro ballistics software to predict proper hold-over and windage.

The gun used is an Edgun Matador .22 PCP air rifle, sighted in at 55 yards (50 meters). The scope is a Hawke Sidewinder 30 IR Tactical 6.5-20x (shooting @ 10x in this video). The pellets were JSB 18.1g, shooing @ 900fps (274m/s).

The Camera Mount I used to record through the scope can be found here:

The slow-motion camera I use to film the shots through the scope is the Casio EX-FC150. That camera is no longer made, but you can buy its successor (which is actually a better camera than the one I use) here:

In this video we are showcasing something a little out of the ordinary for us, a .45 Caliber Air Rifle. Yes, an Air Rifle. Now this is not your Daisy or Red Rider however, this is an air rifle that can take down medium sized game such a whitetail deer or hogs and also be used in urban type environments where discharging firearms as disallowed.

We talked the guys at AirForce Airguns who manufacture the Texan at Shot Show this year and just had to get one in to do some testing and evaluation on and see what it was all about. The results are very surprising, and impressive to say the least. In this video we give chronograph data on many of the projectiles available for this platform as well as accuracy and ballistics test results. We also have some fun seeing what we can destroy with this rifle.

Air Rifles/Pistols are not considered firearms by definition and do not fall under the same laws and regulations as actual firearms.

Stay tuned, much more on the way.

FX Revolution - Part 1 (Mechanics) Semi-Automatic Air Rifle

My FB Page:

This video is from my soon-to-be-deleted Airgun Review channel. I am consolidating the two channels.

Gun supplied by
(480) 461-1113

The Camera Mount I used to record through the scope can be found here:

The slow-motion camera I use to film the shots through the scope is the Casio EX-FC150. That camera is no longer made, but you can buy its successor (which is actually a better camera than the one I use) here:

The FX Revolution is one of a small handful of semi-automatic air rifles on the market. There is no faster way to burn through air and lead than to own one of these things. They are ridiculously fun.

In this video, I'll show you the nuts and bolts, and take a look at the chrony string. In part 2, we'll go to the range and see how it performs at 50 yards.

From the FX Manual re: the front and rear adjusters:
Re: the front adjuster: If you attach a silencer to your Revolution you must reduce the reloading power. This is done by releasing the reloading pressure on the hex/allen screw shown in the example. You can see the screw in the air escape hole on the side of the rifle and you are able to adjust this 6 whole rotations from bottom and out. Too much reloading pressure: trigger system will wear out faster. Too little reloading pressure: the rifle will not cycle

RE: the rear adjuster (spring tension):
You might need to adjust the auto return spring force after a while or if you use non FX pellets. To increase the force of the spring turn the hex screw clockwise. To reduce the force of the spring turn the hex screw counter-clockwise.

Break Barrel Air Rifle Maintenance Part 1

This is a video series about the disassembling and greasing/lubrication of the break barrel air rifle Weihrauch HW95 or Beeman R9.
This video can be used as a tutorial how to maintain your break barrel air rifle, it doesn't have to be my model. 99% of all break barrel air rifles share the same parts.

Four major steps are demonstrated in this series of videos:
1. Disassembly
2. Removal of factroy grease
3. Re-greasing with MoS2 grease and Napier grease
4. Reassembly

And the final step is to test the velocity with a Chrony.
