FLYING the World’s BEST BUSINESS CLASS *Lockdown Edition*

Is this still the world's best Business Class? What's changed? Do you still get the same service, food and overall experience whilst travelling in these testing lockdown times? I got the chance to travel on what’s widely regarded as the world’s best business class, which even challenges many First Class products out there. This was a fascinating experience and I hope you enjoy the flight with me.

Of course there were several challenges to do this, and usually this would involve flying long haul. How is it possible to do so when the world is still locked down? Well follow my journey, I’ll share with you each step of the way. What’s more I also have had the chance to try another competing business class product, offering an interesting comparison to the world’s best. I can tell you now, sadly it falls flat… but then again don’t take my word for it, take a look and let me know in the comments below.

The flight was taken on two of Qatar’s 777-300. One was refurbished with QSuites (as this is what they’re doing across their fleet at present) and the other was a new 777 with their latest and newest version of the product. Subtle difference in the finishes, and increase height of the suite itself. Other things to note and what we’ll be finding out today is what the food is like? So many airlines have substantially cut their offerings. In fact the first flight is a prime example of this. However Qatar has proceeded to offer it’s business class passengers as revised and adapted service, still maintaining a very high level of quality and value for your ticket. Super impressed on this one! What's more on today's flight I got the entire mini cabin to myself. This allowed me to try out all the different variants of QSuites. This includes the double bed, and varieties of single QSuites. Let's not forget the Quad!

It also offers an interesting insight into what longer haul flying is like at present, the difficulties with boarders changing, airports having varied rules and having to wear a mask constantly.

As always let me know what you think below. And if you’d fly on Qatar Business Class in a double bed?

I've always wanted to try British Airways' Club World for myself, to see if it really was indeed so terrible. I never imagined, however, that I'd be flying the product to get back with family during a global pandemic. Nevertheless, the flight was business as usual for this restless, though somewhat deflated travel blogger – here is my review.

Inside The New First Class

The airlines took a hard hit with everything going on in 2020, and their first class sector was likely hit the hardest. Here's all the changes you should expect the next time you step on a plane!

If there’s one thing that we know, it’s that this year has been particularly hard for a huge number of industries. Just to name a few, the service industry, the entertainment industry, and health care all come to mind. But one in particular affects us all. As we all use it to travel to see our relatives, to attend work conferences, and to have fun on exotic vacations. We are of course talking about the airlines industry. It’s been incredibly affected by this year's events. But, what are the executives doing to offset all the losses? We all know that there are less passengers than ever, but what is being done to make sure that these companies don’t go under? Is there even anything that can be done? Well, lucky for you, all these questions and more will be answered in today’s video. We are taking a look at just what has changed for airlines across the nation, and across the world, and specifically taking a look at how first class and business class have been affected. These are supposed to be the premier way to travel, and are billed as the most luxurious means of getting you from one place to another. But if you are required to be six feet apart from all those around you, how can you receive the service that you are used to? Well, to put it bluntly, you can’t. And it’s caused first class to look a lot less appealing than ever. So today, we want to tell you exactly what changes you can expect on your next luxury trip, and then you can decide whether or not it is still worth it for you to pay the extra penny.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Making travel easier: How to pack for a two-week trip without checking a bag

- I travel 200+ days each year and have tried just about everything in terms of how to fold clothes, packing toiletries, what to do with laundry, dealing with TSA rules, and what carry on luggage is best. In other words, I’ve finally come up with the perfect way to travel without having to check a bag. This little video will save you time, money, and stress-free travel with no chance of losing a bag, and the hassle of lugging around oversized bags. Enjoy!

The Tumi bag I show is the previous model to the Tegra-Lite line. It’s a 22” hardshell continental carry-on. Here is the latest model:

The bag I now use is the Tumi Arrive Macarthur Expandable Carry-on Packing Case:

My wife swears by her very lightweight Tumi Voyageur Carry-on:

I also use the Tumi T-Pass Business Class Leather Brief Pack:
This backpack can hold my computer, projector and all the gear. Even the folks at the Tumi store were amazed when I showed them all the equipment it could hold.

My uses the Tumi Voyageur Carson Laptop Backpack:

ROGER’S LOW-COST ALTERNATIVES: Often the choice of suitcase comes down to cost, so here are a couple low-cost alternatives.

This “Amazon’s Choice” 20 hardshell carry-on is a great low-cost alternative that will not disappoint.

This great low-cost alternative backpack will hold a massive amount of gear and is TSA friendly!

You Can Be Suddenly Downgraded on a Flight, Here's Why

Can you be 'downgraded' on a flight? You arrive at the airport, anticipating a pleasant flight - after all, you've paid more for that extra legroom! Or a comfy window seat. Or a business class. That's when you find out you've been.. downgraded! How come? And if you can get downgraded, is the opposite possible too? Then, what other secrets do airlines hide?

Experts claim downgrades do happen - and rather frequently at that! The reasons vary: the airplane can get unexpectedly swapped for a smaller one because of some technical issues. There have also been cases when people bought first-class tickets only to find out later there was no first class on the plane whatsoever! But the rules of downgrading and upgrading aren't the only secrets airlines, flight attendants, and airport staff don't want you to know. Interested? Then check out these surprising facts every traveler will like to know.

To my subscribers, a warm welcome to my annual birthday review 2020. While to those new comers, welcome to Marco Polo Club Flyer. This year, on this special occasion, I flew with Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airways between Hong Kong and Singapore.

In the morning, I flew with Singapore Airlines in their Boeing 777-300ER First Class to Singapore. The whole journey began with the superb lounge service at Hong Kong SilverKris Lounge. The lounge attendant was engaging and nice, and provided outstanding services. Boarding onto the plane, Inflight Supervisor Ivy greeted me with a Happy Birthday. The First Class hard product on the Boeing 777-300ERs are not as special as the Suite product on the Airbus 380-800, but it was still quite good for such a short flight. Cabin attendants onboard focused a lot on the details and made me as if I were at home. Unfortunately, due to my late booking, SQ wasn't able to provide me with a First Class meal, and I was served a Business Class one instead. This has greatly harmed the entire experience. After eating, the crew made the bed for me and I was surprised by Ivy and her team bringing a tray of goodies and a cake to celebrate my birthday. This was totally something unexpected!

Arriving at Singapore, I made my way from Terminal 3 to Terminal 4 through The Jewel. At Cathay's check-in desk, I was informed that I got upgraded from Premium Economy Class to Business Class, and I was really on cloud nine to know so! As I was running out of time, I only spent 5 minutes in the lounge for a glass of Moet champagne. Once onboard, both the Senior Purser and the Inflight Service Manager greeted me with a Happy Birthday. They gave me a birthday card with some Cathay Delight powder as my birthday gifts. I also bought myself some gifts from the Duty Free magazine.

Singapore Airline’s A380 Restaurant Tickets Sold in 30 Minutes

Singapore Airlines Ltd. said all seats on its Airbus SE A380 jetliner pop-up restaurants were reserved within 30 minutes of bookings opening Monday.

With flights largely grounded by the coronavirus pandemic, Singapore Airlines is trying novel ways to raise money, including using two of the superjumbos parked at Changi Airport as temporary eateries.

A meal in a suite costs S$642 ($474), while seats in business class are going for S$321, dropping to S$96.30 for premium economy and S$53.50 for economy. Customers can also pay with frequent-flyer miles.

After lunch on the initial dates of Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 and 25, sold out, Singapore Airlines said it will extend the offer for a further two days the following weekend and also add a dinner option on all four days.

About half the seats in each aircraft will be used for dining, in line with restaurant guidelines on group limits and distancing, the carrier said in a statement. In normal flying service, the carrier’s A380s can seat as many as 471 people, according to its website.

Singapore Airlines, which suffered a record S$1.12 billion ($827 million) net loss in the quarter through June and is laying off about 20% of its workforce, is also selling a range of first- and business-class meals and offering a service whereby a private chef reheats, plates and serves customers in their homes.

Meanwhile, demand is soaring for spots on two cruise ships that will start sailing from Singapore next month on round-trip journeys as the city-state aims to give residents an outlet for their wanderlust.

Operator Genting Cruise Lines has received more than 6,000 bookings in 5 days, while competitor Royal Caribbean International said bookings are up 500% compared with the past two weeks, reported the Straits Times. The boats will sail at a reduced capacity of 50% and the journeys are only open to residents of Singapore.
