Most people will tell you that engineering is definitely worth the hard work. I would agree with this but there are people who may not see it as worth it depending on their situation. This usually comes down to not truly wanting to go into the field or having goals that don't align with getting the degree. In this video I outline some positives and negatives about engineering so you can make a more informed decision.

Doctor vs Engineer vs Business | Deciding on a Career

Deciding between a career in medicine, engineering, and business? We'll go over the main pros and cons of each, and help you determine which career path is right for you.

Vlog channel:

I'm not sure about you - I personally did NOT always know that I wanted to be a doctor. In fact, I was deciding between computer science and medicine even in college. I go over how I chose medicine in this video:

Once in medical school, I actually found myself combining all three disciplines in an interdisciplinary biomedical incubator called Blue LINC, which was modeled after Stanfords' Biodesign. In it, we combine students from engineering, business, and medicine, and help these interdisciplinary teams create healthcare startups.

Only 1 Out of 10 Engineering Grads Will Work as an Engineer

There are 30,000 students that will graduate with a mechanical engineering degree each year. Sadly, there are only 6,000 or fewer jobs available. Most will never get a single job in engineering.

Digital marketing playlist:

Source for how many mechanical engineering jobs are added each year:

Note: BLS says 25,000 mechanical engineering jobs will be added over the next 10 years so I just divided by 10 to get 2,500.

Glassdoor states there are 6,000 open mechanical engineering jobs while there are 49,000 open software engineering jobs:

Why you should NOT become an engineer (Should I become an engineer?)

Hi guys, this is a little video I made on why you shouldn't become an engineer. This is my first video I've ever made and edited... so it may be a little rough. My apologies. If you have any editing suggestions, please feel free to comment.

I made this video because I've currently been unemployed for several months. Combined with the fact that all my engineering friends have spent 6-12 months on average to find a job (with one friend spending 2 years), I decided to make a little informational video to rant against becoming an engineer. Overall, however, engineering is a much better major that the majority of other majors. You should do your own research though. And remember, this information will change with time, so keep that in mind.

Feel free to comment about any questions you have on this video or if you would like a video of a certain topic in the future. Thanks for watching!

Is Becoming An Engineer Worth All the Hard Work?

Are you kidding me? I can't believe you asked me that question. Send me your home address so I can drive over and slap you.

Is engineering really that difficult?? Nope..

Kinda swayed from the title on this video, I still think it'll be helpful to anyone wondering if they are questioning on whether to do engineering or not based on the difficulty.

Too Old for Engineering? #AskAnEngineer // 1 Minute Ask an Engineer Show // Episode 004

Please watch: What I've gained from studying abroad | Should you study abroad?
--~--
Are you too old to start engineering? Is it worth it?

Episode 004 of the 1 minute Ask an Engineer Show, where you submit a question for an engineer, and I try to answer it in 1min.

This question was submitted by Loucritia Arka on Facebook:
I'm almost 33, I live in Greece, I'm a lawyer and I've finally decided to pursue my dream and study engineering (mechanical and maybe aerospace in the future). Until now, I'm studying also Mechatronics (cars/motorbikes/boats technician) in an afternoon 2-year program. So, since I'm already busy, do you think there's any point of me pursuing an online bachelor in engineering (mechanical)? Will I ever be able to do anything with it or is it too late for me?

My answer... listen to find out!
