13 MIND BLOWING Discoveries

Most amazing recent discoveries! Top unbelievable science facts that we recently learned in the last few years

13. The Cave Angel Fish
Ever since the publication of his book On the Origin of Species in 1859, scientists have been searching for evidence to fill the gaps in Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. In 1985, researchers discovered Cryptotora thamicola, more commonly known as the waterfall climbing fish or the cave angel fish. Found predominantly in water-filled caves in Thailand, this reclusive fish can climb steep inclines both in and out of water. It belongs to the hillstream loach family, a durable grouping of marine life that grows in algae. While other sea creatures such as pricklebacks, killifishes, eels, mudskippers, frogfish and some species of catfish are capable of temporary land-dwelling or mobility on the ocean floor, the cave angel fish is the only one with the sophisticated spinal and fin structure to do both. Its discovery brought researchers one step closer to understanding how the first vertebrates emerged from the sea roughly 375 million years ago.

12. Data Super Storage
In 2013, data storage experts from the University of Southampton in England demonstrated the concept of five-dimensional data storage. By early 2016, their method reached its prototype phase with the creation of an encoded disc capable of storing unparalleled file sizes and amounts that could last for up to 14 billion years. Unlike other forms of data storage, the 5D disc uses a protected form of digital dimensions called nano-gratings. Unlike optical discs like the everyday CD, 5D technology allows information to be stored more densely and is less vulnerable to heat or chemical corruption. The first files preserved using this new technology were the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the King James Bible, and the book Opticks by Isaac Newton. Though it will likely be a few decades before these super-discs are available for widespread commercial use, the scientists who created them are already looking into more economical ways to duplicate and distribute their game-changing technology.

11. Understanding Malaria
Researchers in the College of Medicine at Penn State University have discovered the process by which Plasmodium falciparum, the deadliest malaria parasite, attacks red blood cells by overtaking the immune system. Using proteins that are meant to protect the human body from outside infection, P. falciparum reverses the normal process of attacking invading bacteria by causing antibodies to do the opposite of what they are supposed to - turning against the body itself. When these defenses become immobilized, the parasite targets red blood cells and spreads the virus throughout the body. In discovering this previously-unknown tactic of the disease, researchers gained an invaluable and long-awaited insight into developing a stronger vaccine.

10. The Known Placebo Effect
The placebo effect describes the physical or mental state of relief experienced by an oblivious patient after they are provided with a treatment or prescription that does not contain any real medical component. Such “placebos” are often given out in the form of innocuous supplements like sugar pills. This phenomenon has been the subject of extensive debate and research within the scientific community since it was discovered by by a medic during World War II. But the recent emergence of the “known placebo effect” may entirely change the way doctors attend to their patients. Researchers at Harvard Medical School have introduced the concept of what they call “open-label placebos.” These are prescriptions that patients are honestly told do not contain any proven medical benefit before they take them. Despite being aware of their so-called medication’s complete lack of chemical integrity, many patients in an irritable bowel syndrome study experienced significant symptom relief. While it is unlikely to become a realistic treatment for all diseases, further examination of the known placebo effect has the potential to revolutionize medical care in the 21st Century.

10. Oldest-Ever Viking Dwelling
Earlier this year, experts revealed the existence of two Viking Age longhouses in eastern Iceland - or, what’s left of them, rather. One predates the previous earliest known human arrivals to the region by over 70 years. They were accidentally discovered in 2003, but they were not excavated until 2015.

9. A Shipwreck Frozen In Time
British explorer and naval officer Sir John Franklin took two ships on an ill-fated 1845 expedition to find the Northwest Passage, a sea route above North America that connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The HMS Terror and the HMS Erebus and his 133-man crew vanished without a trace, and over 100 subsequent search missions failed to find any evidence of them. But finally in2014 and 2016, the missing ships were found!

8. 4,400 Year-Old-Tomb
In late 2018, a team of Egyptian archaeologists discovered the tomb of a priest at Saqqara, a necropolis west of modern-day Cairo. The high-status burial is estimated to be 4,400 years old, and it was amazingly found untouched by looters or anyone else.

7. Spanish Stonehenge
Nicknamed the “Spanish Stonehenge,” the Dolmen of Guadalperal, is a prehistoric circular arrangement of 140 boulders, some standing nearly 6-and-a-half feet (2 meters) tall!

6. 400-Year-Old Shipwreck
In September 2018, archaeologists found what they called the “discovery of a decade” and “the most important find of all time” for Portugal: an astonishingly intact 400-year-old whipwreck off the coast of Cascais, near Lisbon. The vessel, which sank sometime between 1575 and 1625, during the height of Portugal’s spice trade with Asia, was likely returning from India when catastrophe struck.

5. Paisley Abbey Tunnel Mystery Solved
Throughout the summer of 2019, a team of archaeologists worked to finish excavating a 14th-century tunnel known as the Abbey Drain, which is located near a former monastery in Paisley, Scotland. Experts have known about the well-preserved tunnel for hundreds of years, but until they fully explored it, they only knew where it started -- not where it ended.

4. Neolithic “Woodhenge”
We have a stonehenge and now we have a woodhenge!! Earlier this year, researchers announced the discovery of a wooden neolithic structure in south-central Portugal’s Évora district, at the prehistoric site of Perdigões. Measuring over 60 feet (18.3 meters) in diameter, the monument is located within a series of ditch enclosures. In an interview with The Portugal News, archaeologist António Valera explained: “A possible access to the interior of this structure is oriented toward the summer solstice, reinforcing its cosmological character.”

3. Artificial Neolithic Islands
A study released last year found that Neolithic people created hundreds of artificial islands, called crannogs, off the Scottish coast around 5,600 years ago. Researchers, some of whom published their findings in the journal Antiquity, had known about the crannogs for decades.

2. Massive Structure ‘Hidden In Plain Sight’
In mid-2016, thanks to satellite and drone technology, researchers found a massive structure buried in the sands of the world-famous Petra ruins in Jordan. Roughly the size of an Olympic swimming pool, the building was found literally “hidden in plain sight just south of the city center, and archaeologists have missed this for 150, 200 years,” said researcher Sarah Parcak of the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

1. Golden Cannonball Fossil
While out on one of his regularly scheduled fossil hunting missions with his father in early 2019 along Sandsend Beach in Whitby, England, a medical student named Aaron Smith discovered a large, shiny rock resembling a cannonball.

MINDBLOWING Discoveries Made in the Last Decade

Every single year, thanks to the relentless efforts of scientists, archeologists and researchers, we are introduced to mind-blowing discoveries. The last decade has brought forward so many new concepts, ideas and findings and today we’ll have a look at a few of them!

10 - Age defying…
We know that research is on going in our continual search to remain younger looking, and it’s now thought the secret could be held in the Greenland shark. This amazing shark can live up to 400-years, and a radiocarbon dating analysis of 28 sharks proved that these animals are officially the longest-living vertebrates in the world, with the oldest being between 272 and 512 years old. So, what’s the secret? It’s possible it’s a combination of low-key metabolism, slow growth and even slower reproductive maturation, which basically means this shark is “chilled to a virtually cryogenic state”. Does it help us in our fight against aging? I highly doubt it this time.

9 - This little piggy…
Might be able to produce human organs! Scientists at the Salk Institution have been working tirelessly to grow human organs inside pigs, and for those that are aware that pigs eat their own waste, well maybe the idea isn’t that amazing. However, if you’re on the waiting list for an organ, I don’t think it’s going to matter how or where the organ is grown, as long as it does the job! The team were able to grow human cells inside the pig embryos, which gives them much hope that organs will grow well too. We keep everything crossed that this is a huge success.

8 - Repair in progress…
It’s been proven that the ozone layer is repairing itself, scientists believe that by 2050 it will be “healed” Since the year 2000, the ozone layer has shrunk by more than 1.7 million square miles.

7 - Tub of lard…
Fatbergs are extremely dangerous clumps of non-biodegradable products – which includes oil, wet wipes, fats and anything that’s clogging up the sewers. They are extremely dangerous, and often wash up on beaches, where curious animals lick them and get really ill. There was a ginormous one in London, which scientists have now converted into biodiesel. This fatberg made 2,000 gallons of fuel!

6 - Earths superhero…
This millimeter-long worm has a light-detecting cell that is said to be 50 times more efficient at capturing light than the one found in the human eye. The finding is remarkable as it’s only the 3rd type of photoreactor found in animals. The light that it absorbs gets converted into a signal which the body uses for a variety of purposes - they’re just not sure what just yet, but they believe when they figure it out, then it would be possible to genetically engineer new photoreceptors, and that would be pretty awesome!

5 - Hug a bear today…
And it could even be a giant panda! Seems like the giant panda is no longer endangered thanks to massive conservation efforts since 2007. Panda populations have grown 17% since then, and hopefully we can keep the uptrend for many years to come!

4 - Size counts…
It was in 2009 that a team of astronomers went about measuring a black hole that had recently been found, which was called S5 0014+81. To their amazement, the hole turned out to be 10,000 times bigger than the already massive one located in the center of the Milky Way, which means it’s officially the biggest black hole that we know of! It’s equivalent to 40 billion solar masses and its believed it was formed 1.6 billion years after the big bang, which leads them to believe that black holes of this size grow extremely quickly!

3 - Wine not…
Now this is my kind of discovery! A physicist has managed to create a drip-free wine bottle, the first of its kind, by adding an additional tiny groove on the top of the bottle. By doing this, he’s ensured you’ll never spill a drop of your much-needed wine again.

2 - Super-charged…
There’s a super wheat that could solve all our overpopulation problems. It’s basically wheat that performs photosynthesis so much more efficiently than normal wheat. So, a regular crop would yield up to 40% more crop, helping to feed the masses.

???????? High Quality Galaxy Light Projector:
????

Tenth Place: Arrokoth
We'll be kicking off our list with the discovery and flight of Arrokoth, the most distant object explored up close in our system. In 2016, the New Horizons probe reached Pluto and took the first pictures of it when it flew over the planet.

Ninth Place: The Cosmic Wave
To understand this fantastic discovery, first we have to understand a bit about how space and our universe works. Every galaxy in the observable universe is a small dot or landmark on a long line of gas known as the cosmic web.

Eighth Place: Teegarden’s Star habitable planets
In June 2019, researchers reported that they had found two Earth-like exoplanets circling a red dwarf known as Teegarden's Star, which lies only 12.5 light-years from Earth.

Sixth Place: The Heliopause
We know all about our atmosphere, magnetosphere, asteroids, comets and all kinds of objects that come in contact with earth and get promptly disintegrated by these protective fields.

Fifth Place: Orphaned Planet
If you know a little bit about stars and their lives, you might know that when a star runs out of fuel and collapses, it might become a white dwarf, which is the crystalline corpse of a star.

Fourth Place: Solar Tsunamis
Tsunamis are never good news, and tsunamis in the Sun are definitely not good news either, while still sounding like an awe-inspiring phenomenon.

Third Place: Mid-mass Black Hole
Whenever something nears a black hole, it's difficult to really get out of its gravitational pull.

Second Place: Baby Black Holes
Black Holes are without a doubt space's most terrifying objects. In March 2019, some Japanese astronomers wanted to search baby pictures of the universe by pointing their telescope to a corner of space around 13 billion light years away.

First Place: Real-life Tatooine
If you've watched Star Wars, you probably remember the planet Tatooine fondly. Thanks to help
from NASA's transiting exoplanet survey satellite, the NASA was able to find a strange exoplanet in a three-star system in our galaxy.

Biggest Discovery Ever Made! Blood of Jesus Tested in Laboratory the Results will Blow your Mind

This discovery will probably never make it to mainstream media world wide, because the discovery was met by strong recistance by higher powers and sadly few people know about this. Therefore, I suggest that you behind the screen, share the clip as freshly as you can to friends and family. Spread the word! JESUS IS ALIVE

Ron Wyatt discovered the Ark of the Covenant, and, as a totally unexpected second discovery, to his astonishment found the blood of Christ on its Mercy Seat. A DNA analysis proved the miraculous nature of the blood. Ron Wyatt's discovery should have made international front page news, but was largely blacked out by the corporate news media. It was quietly but excitedly reported on by the Christian news networks. When scientist Richard Rives tested the dried, two-thousand-year-old dead blood, he was able to analyze its chromosomes—which is only possible with living blood. Upon further analysis, the blood was found to contain twenty-three chromosomes from the mother (Mary)—as is normal—but only one Y chromosome from the Father (God)—which should have been impossible, as regular humans have 23 chromosomes from mother and 23 from the father—a total of 46!

Four samples of the literal, physical blood of Jesus Christ have been discovered and tested: one taken from the Shroud of Turin, another obtained from the Veil of Veronica, one from Ron Wyatt's archeological dig beneath the cruxifixction site, and another brought back by the Knights Templar. All four blood-related relics have been associated with numerous miracles and subjected to rigorous scientific testing, the synthesis of scientific and phenomenological evidence, for some, proof of Jesus.

The initial steps towards the scientific study of the Shroud of Turin and the blood of Jesus imbedded in the relic were taken soon after the first set of black and white photographs became available early in the 20th century. In 1902 Yves Delage, a French professor of comparative anatomy, published the first study on the subject. Delage declared the image anatomically flawless and argued that the features of rigor mortis, wounds, and blood flows were evidence that the image was formed by direct or indirect contact with a corpse. William Meacham mentions several other medical studies between 1936 and 1981 that agree with Delage. However, these were all indirect studies without access to the shroud itself. The first direct examination of the shroud by a scientific team was undertaken in 1969–1973 in order to advise on preservation of the shroud and determine specific testing methods. This led to the appointment of an 11-member Turin Commission to advise on the preservation of the relic and on specific testing. Five of the commission members were scientists, and preliminary studies of samples of the fabric were conducted in 1973.

Scientists Drill One Mile Underneath Antarctica And Make A Mind Blowing Discovery

Scientists drill one mile underneath Antarctica and make a mind blowing discovery. Today, we take a look at what these scientists discovered underneath Antarctica.

One might think that, after centuries of technological advancement by scientists and researchers, we would have finally begun to understand the planet we live on and the impact that we have on it.

And while at times it seems like that may be true, just when we think we know as much as we can, a discovery will turn our knowledge on its head and make us realize that, despite the wealth of information out there, there is still so much that we don’t yet know.

7 - Garden of Eden…
For quite some time, archaeologists have suspected that the ancient Egyptians planted gardens at the entrance of their tombs but had never found concrete evidence. All they had was illustrations on the inside of tomb walls, but a recent discovery has finally yielded the proof they needed. They found a garden on the Dra Abu el-Naga hill in Luxor. It was a 3 x 2-meter garden and Dr Jose Manuel Galán of the Spanish National Research Council believes it’s doing to provide fabulous information about botany and environment conditions from 4,000-years ago!

6 - Beneath the surface…
At one point in time in ancient Egypt, the kings of Kush were in power, but when Aspelta came into power - 593–568 BC, the Kush only ruled their own kingdom but still referred to themselves as the kings of Egypt. Excavations have continued where they were based, which is at Dangeil in Sudan. Archeologists have been spending time inside a temple of the Egyptian god Amun, and they have recently picked up sought after fragments and managed to piece together the face of Aspelta. Thought to be 2,600-years old, Aspelta was said to be “king of Upper and Lower Egypt”. The building where the discovery was made was abandoned, yet other bodies have been found buried there and no one knows where they come from or who those people were.

5 - Try and try again…
This is a great story of try and try again. Roughly 4,600-years ago, King Sneferu of the 4th Dynasty built the very first smooth-sided pyramid. He didn’t get it right first time though and had a rather embarrassing failure with his “bent” pyramid. His first attempt saw the pyramid change from a 54-degree angle at the base to 43-degrees halfway up. King Sneferu’s son succeeded him and it was largely thanks to him the Great Pyramid at Giza was built. Now, just south of all this is the royal cemetery of Dahshur where a new pyramid was recently discovered. This one is from the Middle Kingdom and believed to belong to King Ameni Ka Mauw who ruled during the 13th Dynasty. The pyramid had 10 lines of hieroglyphic text which experts are still busy trying to translate.

4 - It’s all there…
An intact tomb was found at Qubbet el-Hawa, Aswan, which is an area well-known for great finds. 14 tombs of members of the ruling class of the river island of Elephantine were discovered and in March 2017, yet another tomb was uncovered. The occupant is believed to be a brother of Sarenput II, an important governor of the 12th Dynasty. The best part was that the tomb was in such excellent condition and there was a range of funerary goods inside, including some pottery, wooden figures, two cedar coffins and the mummy as well as the mask were all well-preserved.

3 - The search has ended…
Quite a while back, in 1907, two mummies were discovered that ended up causing a lot of frustration for researchers. They were found 250-miles South of Cairo side-by-side and estimated to be 4,000 years old. Named Khnum-Nakht and Nakht-Ankh, they’re thought to be royalty due to their rich tombs. On each coffin was the name Khnum-Aa, a female name that many believe to be their mother. Only recently have scientists been able to confirm this information, and they’ve also managed to figure out that the brothers were half-brothers born 20-years apart.

2 - Ankle Deep…
We’re back in Luxor where 8 mummies were recently found in a tomb. It was April of 2018 when these mummies were found alongside more than 1,000 statues and several coffins inside an ancient noble’s tomb near the Valley of the Kings. What made the discovery a little unusual was that the coffins were beautifully decorated in red, blue, black, green, and yellow… excavations continue.

10 Most MIND BLOWING Discoveries From 2017!

From the human-pig hybrid to time crystals these are the recent amazing scientific breakthroughs that are guaranteed to interest you!

#10. “CRISPR” --Imagine being able to prevent disease and genetic defects before a human is even born. Well, in 2017 scientists made significant strides towards being able to edit our genes. Chinese scientists became the first to successfully use a new gene editing tool called CRISPR-Cas9. CRISPR is an injectable DNA construct that can alter the genes of humans and other living organisms. Specifically it uses an enzyme to remove the part of the DNA that isn’t working properly or is damaged and then replaces it with a new DNA sequence. The Chinese successfully used this tool to complete the first two steps in process designed to treat a patient with lung cancer. The United States plans on conducting their first trial using CRISPR in the coming months and many see this research as the leading component of a new international science race between the U.S. and China.

#9. “Another Earth?”--The quest to find life outside of our own planet ramped up in 2017 as astronomers discovered three new Earth-like planets. These planets are around 40 light years away orbiting the star TRAPPIST-1 and are perfectly situated within the Goldilocks zone, or the location most likely to support life like ours. The planets were discovered by the Belgian astronomer Michael Gillon and a team of researchers when they noticed them as shadows dimming the light in front of TRAPPIST. Though not much can be inferred about the third planet of the group that is farthest away from the star, they have been able to deduce that the first two planets are about the same size as earth and though they probably receive as much as four times the radiation from the star as we do our sun, the are in the prime area to potentially host liquid water. Unfortunately we can’t yet get an up close and personal look at the planets as with our current space travel capabilities it would take millions of years to reach them.

#8. “Fountain of Youth”--What if your body would age to a certain point and then have the ability to trigger a process that reverses the aging process, theoretically letting you live forever? Well this idea may not be the stuff of science fiction for long, as there is a new therapy that has been proven to work in mice that reverses their aging. Scientists at Harvard University has been studying a compound with almost miraculous anti-aging abilities called NAD+. They found that when they increased the levels of this naturally occurring chemical in mice that not only did the test mice appear younger than other mice their age, but there were signs that their DNA’s ability to repair itself increased and the deterioration caused naturally by aging in their muscles was reversing. So what does this mean for humans? Well a company named MetroBiotech has developed a similar compound to NAD+ and put it in a capsule, with plans to test it on humans in the near future.
