Kazakhstan to TURKEY- Air Astana | Business class review | Ataturk Airport, Istanbul

This video is based on my flight from Almaty to Istanbul. I flew Air Astana's Business Class. This was my first time to experience the Business class on an international flight. Before flying, I have shared information about the Business Lounge at Almaty Airport, Immigration and Security check at Almaty Airport. And then I finally flew from Kazakhstan to Turkey. Watch this video to see the vegetarian food of Business Class, Air Astana. Also, you will get to know about Ataturk Airport, Istanbul where I landed. Almaty to Istanbul flight duration was around 6 hours. I completed the Immigration formalities at Istanbul Airport in just 3 minutes after landing. This was incredible! Watch the video to know how I did that!

The World's SHORTEST A380 Flight - Just 40 minutes!

Join me to fly the World's Shortest A380 Flight from Dubai to Muscat on Emirates. I was invited to fly on the inaugural Emirates A380 flight from Dubai to Muscat on July 1st.

Discover all the amenity, the service and what you can do inside the A380 on such a short flight. Also watch the whole flight in timelapse replay at the end!

Giveaway Link:

-----

Join me for a very memorable and exciting flight from Dubai to Muscat, Oman, on the very first flight between these two cities taken aboard an Airbus A380. With the introduction of the Airbus A380 on to this route, this automatically becomes the world’s shortest A380 flight, lasting just 40 minutes. Despite the short flight time, however, in classic Emirates style, there’s still plenty to enjoy, taste, see and do in a very comfortable and luxurious environment. Due to the flight’s short duration, the altitude of the flight is much lower than normal, at only 19,000 feet and the speed is lower too, at 270 knots.

The Dubai to Muscat route used to be run using a Boeing 777-300 ER and you might initially wonder why the decision has been taken to switch to a super jumbo jet like the Airbus A380 for such a short flight. However, when you see the crowds in the airport for this particular flight, you’ll realise that the primary motivation for this change of aeroplane model is simply to fit everyone on board!

I start the day bright and early at Dubai Airport at 6 AM, which is peak time in the air terminal building, with a large number of Airbus A380’s congregated on the tarmac ready to take a large number of people to destinations all over the globe from Dubai. I have a long walk to get to my flight gate – a 20 minute walk within the terminal building for a 40 minute flight! I’m therefore glad that the breakfast is so good in the Emirates First Class Lounge, with a perfect mix of Indian, Asian, Arabic and Western foods on offer. As has been a running theme in recent videos, I opt for something nice and spicy to kick off my day and wake me up – the spicy masala omelette, and I am even handed some extra chilly powder by a kind fellow passenger in the lounge, just in case it wasn’t hot enough already!

Before boarding, I am delighted to bump in to Lays Laraya, a fellow Av geek on Instagram, who made her 143rd Emirates A380 flight with me. She very kindly hands out thank you cards and gifts to all 27 of the Emirates staff during the flight – hats off to her; she’s very dedicated. I also have the pleasure of meeting Cherag Dubash who also takes the flight with me – he is a passionate aviation enthusiast.

Once we’re up in the air, I take the opportunity to inspect the famous on-board first class shower and spa. The flight’s only 40 minutes long so you might think that there’s not much time for that, but the shower’s wet when I check it, so someone certainly took the opportunity to freshen up!

What I love about Emirates is their attention to detail and your comfort – despite the short duration of the flight, they still lay on a tray full of tasty food with fruit, bread, croissants, cheese, meat and a hot drink all available. You just need to finish up quick!

I was able to get a 1:400 model of the Airbus A380 Green Dubai Expo 2020 aeroplane from the Emirates duty free shop at Dubai airport, which is a wonderful souvenir of this niche, inaugural A380 flight between Dubai and Muscat. The celebration ceremony when we arrive at Muscat airport makes it all the more special, with dignitaries cutting a special cake cut to celebrate the occasion.

Overall, it was a very memorable and enjoyable flight and I was so pleased to be able to share this special moment with the Emirates airline staff who are always so kind and friendly. Did you enjoy the experience? Let me know in the comments section down below and, as always, thanks for watching!

My Supersonic Concorde Flight - Concorde 50th

March 2nd, 2019 is Concorde’s 50th anniversary since her first flight. Concorde was absolutely the gold standard of aviation

I flew on the supersonic Concorde in 2003 from New York to London in just over 3 hours at twice the speed of sound. This video shares with you my ultimate flight of my life; on-board the supersonic Concorde.

Watch with a detail explanation of the Concorde cockpit unique features plus a ride in the Concorde simulator. Several Concorde Pilots and cabin crew members spoke about their feelings of the Concorde.

At 3:40pm on March 2nd, the Concorde drooped its nose as we celebrate the Concorde 50th anniversary. (same time as the first test flight took off 50 years ago) Don't miss the amazing celebration footage.

Special thanks to Brooklands Museum in Surrey England for the permission to film. They open year round for visitors to enjoy the Concorde experience:

--

In this video, we pay homage to and celebrate the extraordinary service life of the supersonic Concorde jet whose inaugural flight occurred 50 years ago on 2nd March 1969. Re-live the extraordinary and exciting 50th anniversary celebrations held at the Brooklands Museum in Surrey, England, which houses the only Concorde simulator in the world, and see for yourself why this aeroplane will always be on another level compared to all others.

The Concorde jet was a miracle of engineering in many ways – a flight from London to New York could be completed in three and a half hours, allowing wealthy businessmen to, astonishingly, fly to New York for a meeting and return home the same day. The aeroplane’s top speed of just over twice the speed of sound – Mach 2.04 or 1,354 miles per hour – meant that time travel was no longer confined to the realms of science fiction; flights could take off in darkness in London in the evening and arrive in day-light in the early afternoon in New York the same day.

Even today the aeroplane looks extremely futuristic which is a testament to how far ahead of the curve Concorde was at the time. In this video, we take a look at the internal features of this aeroplane which made it unique, including its fighter jet like cockpit with analogue controls, smaller than average windows to protect against decompression and cooling and heat protection system to deliver the plane from the effects of friction with the air, magnified many times due to the plane’s supersonic speeds. We also see the famous drooping nose and accompanying visor of the Concorde jet, giving greatly enhanced landing and take-off visibility when down and supreme aerodynamic efficiency when raised.

The Concorde jet was developed jointly by Sud Aviation, now Aerospatiele and Airbus, and the British Aircraft Corporation, now BAE systems. Sadly, the production run of Concorde was much smaller than anticipated due to massive overruns in both time and budget – the original program cost of Concorde was estimated at £70 million but ended up being £1.3 billion. With so few planes, British Airways and Air France could never recoup the cost of the aeroplanes and so this was absorbed by the British and French governments respectively but their high ticket prices – a round-trip from London to New York typically cost $8,000 – still made Concorde highly profitable for the airlines, apparently ensuring that Concorde would race along the skies for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, the sonic boom of Concorde, was not welcome in populated areas and so Concorde was restricted to flights over the ocean. The fatal event for Concorde, however, came in July 2000 when Air France Flight 4590 crashed after take-off, en route to New York, before even leaving France, killing everyone on board. Subsequent reductions in ticket sales meant that the decision to retire Concorde was taken in April 2003 and attempts by Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic to purchase the British Airway’s Concorde fleet were not successful.

Sadly, fate cut short the service life of Concorde but she will always be remembered as the lightning bolt of the skies; able to go higher, faster and louder than any other commercial aeroplane. Her legacy survives in the likes of the Boeing 777, which make use of the electronic fly-by-wire acceleration systems that were first introduced in Concorde.

What's it like flying during Covid? Macedonia to Turkey

What is it like flying during Covid? Have you flown since lockdown? I have flown a few times with a few different airlines, to different countries and it seems pretty safe, considering we're flying during a pandemic.

On Pegasus airlines, they stated that the air is replaced within the cabin every 3 minutes, and every single person on the flight must wear a mask.

In this video we show you what it's actually like to fly from Skopje International Airport in Macedonia with Pegasus Airlines to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Turkey. In the video you'll see some confusion at the check in desk as the staff member for Pegasus thought I was flying to the UK from Istanbul, so she wanted me to fill in an online UK Government form. I overheard the guy next to me struggling with English but he said he speaks French, although I could tell he was Albanian. I decided to help him by translating what the Pegasus staff member were saying into French as best as I could. The issue seemed to be that he couldn't remember his email address or password. I ended up going to gmail to create him a new account, but it turns out he was already logged in to an account. He needed to fill in the UK form as he was transferring at Sabiha Gokcen airport to go to London.

That was quite a fun experience as I've not spoken French in about 10 years, and it was good to try to help somebody too.

On the flight, we knew within seconds of sitting down that the woman behind us was going to take her mask off and be a nuisance, because she was so loud. We didn't film any of it as the camera was in my bag in the overhead cabin, but she got told to put it on numerous times. When the plane stopped, she was told to sit down, and tried to ignore the staff, pretending she didn't speak their language. She did. Some people are just ignorant idiots.

Our verdict on travelling during covid is that it's fine to do so, keep your distance, obey the rules, don't be a moron and enjoy yourself when you get there. I would probably advise anybody who has any sort of medical issues that would put them at serious risk if they were infected with Covid to not travel, because you are in confined spaces whilst travelling, but if you're not at risk, feel free.
