Should you travel to Ecuador in May 2021? My advice after a month here!

I'm a digital nomad who travels around the world sustainably and now is undoubtably a hard time to do it. Latin America in particular has been hit hard by the pandemic. Right now I'm in Ecuador and I made this video to give you my advice and tell you a small story of something that happened to me this past weekend.

If you decide to come to Ecuador, I can definitely recommend Quito and Cuenca. Both are amazing cities. I haven't gone to the Galapagos, but keep an eye out for an update soon. I'll have a lot of information about that place soon.

The place I bought my panama hat in Cuenca is called La Paja Toquilla. I visited a lot of hat shops in Cuenca and that was by far my favorite! It's an amazing souvenir!

Thanks for watching, check out my other videos on Ecuador! Links are below.

A REAL Day in Manta Ecuador (May 2021)

Amelia And JP VLOG 254: Daisy hasn't been feeling well for a few weeks. The vet clinic in Olón said she needed an ultrasound, but they didn't have that equipment so we took her to the Manta Pets Veterinary Clinic after we moved here.

I adopted Daisy 10 years ago and she was at least 3 years old then so she's getting pretty old and we're worried she might not be with us much longer.

We just lost Alicia to old age a couple months ago and we can't handle the thought of losing Daisy, too. Hopefully the vet here in Manta can get her back to normal!

The coffee shop we went to was Pip Coffee. It's a national chain with a new location that isn't listed on their website or Facebook page yet. It's one block east of Martinica on restaurant row. ¡Fue riquisimo!

Here are the links we mentioned in the video:

COVID-19 vaccines are continuing to ramp up in Canada and around the world. We're not quite out of the woods just yet, but the outlook for future travel is starting to look a little brighter.

In our May 2021 update on When Can We Travel Again?, we'll begin by taking a look at ever-tightening travel restrictions as we continue to protect against foreign variants of concern, and we'll touch upon the logistics of travelling to the US for the COVID-19 vaccine.

We'll also cover all the latest developments on the so-called vaccine passports for international travel, as well as the countries that will reopen to vaccinated Canadians once our travel restrictions are relaxed.

Covid-19 Update Ecuador - State of Emergency, Vaccination & Breaking Curfew

Living in Ecuador during the pandemic has been difficult. Covid-19 has really hurt Ecuador. The cases are high, the hospitals are full, and the coronavirus restrictions seem to be hurting the country more than helping it. This is a covid-19 update from an expat living in Ecuador. I'm discussing the curfew, the lockdown, the vaccination program in Ecuador, how the government has handled the situation, getting a vaccine in Ecuador and what the experience was like.

7 REASONS WHY WE'D NEVER LIVE IN THE MEXICO CARIBBEAN AGAIN

We lived in the Riviera Maya (aka Mexico's Caribbean coast) for 2 years. These are all the reasons why we would not live there long-term again.
►Please subscribe to our channel:

We spent two years living in Puerto Morelos, a small beach town between Cancun and Playa del Carmen in the state of Quintana Roo. During our time there, we traveled to Isla Holbox, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Bacalar. While there were a ton of things we loved about that region, there are quite a few reasons we'd never live there again.

HOW ON EARTH We Afford to Travel FULL TIME (2020 Update)

We're sharing our secrets on how we earn a living online and have the freedom to travel full-time.
►Start your Spanish-learning journey with a free trial at:
►Get 3 MONTHS FREE with code tangerine at:

In January of 2018, we left our careers in the US to start traveling through Mexico. At that time, we basically just started with enough savings to get us by for a few months. Meanwhile, we hoped that our entrepreneurial spirits would help us earn a living online so we could continue traveling long-term.

From the beginning, we started to document our travels in Mexico on video. At the time, we never thought being a YouTuber or having a YouTube channel was on the horizon. As our channel started to gain traction, though, we realized Tangerine Travels could potentially be our full-time venture. After many months of dawn-till-dusk days of unpaid work, we eventually grew our YouTube channel and developed the income streams we'll be talking about today.

How do we afford to travel full-time? Here's what we discuss in this video:
- Our cost of living in Mexico
- Our lifestyle and how that affects the income we need to live/travel
- What we do to cut costs and expenses
- How we make money from our YouTube channel (ad revenue, affiliate sales, brand deals/partnerships, etc.)
- What type of affiliate programs we prefer and why
- Patreon and how we approach it
- Dividends and Covered Calls
- and more!

This is one of the most frequently asked questions on our channel. Did we answer all your questions? What would you still like to know about our travel lifestyle, YouTube channel, or life in Mexico? Comment below.

ABOUT US (MADDIE & JORDAN)
In January 2018, we sold everything we owned in the US (except our husky Laska & what fit in our tiny, tangerine Prius C3) to travel the world—starting with Mexico. Since then, we've been making travel videos about our life in Mexico and the new experiences we encounter while traveling the world. If you'd like to join our shenanigans, subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can also poke around our social media to find out what we’re up to each week.

/// ABOUT US ///
Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Ecuador. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! During our last year of university, we spent 4 months in Honduras on a semester abroad and fell in love with #LatinAmerica and #Spanish. Since then, we began planning and saving to do an extensive Latin America tour. 2020 delayed those plans by half a year but during this time stuck in BC, we explored a new hobby (like everyone in the pandemic) of videography and photography. We are now using our new skills to document our adventures around #Ecuador. Our desire through these videos is to provide helpful and inspiring content for other travelers while also showing people around the world how beautiful and underrated Ecuador truly is! Thanks for following along and please leave a comment to say hi!
