Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, an infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death. Doctors recommend regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs to prevent the infection from spreading. It is also advised to avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

COVID -19 Sunday Knowledge Sharing Webinar for Parents/Families

On Sunday, a Knowledge Sharing Webinar for Parents/Families on how careful they should be when it comes to the coronavirus and how to prevent it from spreading to their dear ones, was conducted.

The Rainbow Children's Hospital Sunday Knowledge Sharing Webinar was hosted by Dr. Rohit, who explained how useful the Covid-19 vaccination can be and how children are being affected. The panellists included Dr. Preetham Kumar Reddy, who is a Consultant - Pediatrician & Pediatric Intensive Care and Dr. Faisal B Nahdi, who is a Pediatrician at Rainbow Children's Hospital.

They have addressed the common question which is raised by parents - how does COVID-19 affect children? Although children are less exposed as they don't go out, there have been cases wherein the virus infects parents, and therefore, infects the children too. They also addressed the general guidelines for keeping children healthy at home and how the coronavirus's lockdown and other measures affected children’s mental health.

All parents should watch this video and take the necessary preventive measures for their children. In case of any Covid-19 symptoms, please visit Rainbow Children's hospital.
