Andrea Ghez’s Black Hole Research Confirms Einstein’s Theory of Relativity | Short Film Showcase

For the past 23 years Andrea Ghez, professor of physics and astronomy at UCLA, has been collecting data on stars that orbit black holes. She found that their motion provided an opportunity to test the fundamental laws of physics. “We asked how gravity behaves near a supermassive black hole and whether Einstein’s theory is telling us the full story. ”Einstein’s 1915 theory of general relativity holds that what we perceive as the force of gravity arises from the curvature of space and time. “In Newton’s version of gravity, space and time are separate, and do not co-mingle; under Einstein, they get completely co-mingled near a black hole,” she said. Ghez's research is the most detailed study ever conducted into the supermassive black hole and Einstein’s theory of general relativity.

CGI 3D Animated Short: INTRA - by Thomas Vanz

TheCGBros Presents - INTRA - From a Blackhole to the Big-bang
We dont know yet what is inside a black hole, we know it is a singularity, a point where every theory we know doesnt work anymore. One of the possibilities is called The White Hole Theory, a sort of exit from the black hole, a point where everything is born, including space and time. Some compare it to the Big Bang.

INTRA tells the visual story of this theory, a journey from the black to the white hole, a cosmic tale of death and birth...
As a tribute to Nolans Interstellar, this second short after NOVAE goes deeper into our conception of cosmos, interpreting the unknown to propose a vision of the most extreme celestial object of our Universe...

Black holes are one of the most mysterious and awe-inspiring objects out there in the universe. Their existence has fascinated physicists’ and astronomers for decades. They may hold answers to some of astrology’s greatest theories ranging from the very nature of our universe to the possibility of a multiverse and beyond. Black holes have long been the things of science-fiction, with many incredible movies and stories built around their foreboding yet intriguing existence. Despite these many stories and theories developed over the years, scientists have recently gathered much new information on black holes that is turning the scientific community on its head. But if there’s one thing people want to know when it comes to a black hole is…what happens if you fall into one?

NASA | Massive Black Hole Shreds Passing Star

This artist’s rendering illustrates new findings about a star shredded by a black hole. When a star wanders too close to a black hole, intense tidal forces rip the star apart. In these events, called “tidal disruptions,” some of the stellar debris is flung outward at high speed while the rest falls toward the black hole. This causes a distinct X-ray flare that can last for a few years. NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, Swift Gamma-ray Burst Explorer, and ESA/NASA’s XMM-Newton collected different pieces of this astronomical puzzle in a tidal disruption event called ASASSN-14li, which was found in an optical search by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN) in November 2014. The event occurred near a supermassive black hole estimated to weigh a few million times the mass of the sun in the center of PGC 043234, a galaxy that lies about 290 million light-years away. Astronomers hope to find more events like ASASSN-14li to test theoretical models about how black holes affect their environments.

During the tidal disruption event, filaments containing much of the star's mass fall toward the black hole. Eventually these gaseous filaments merge into a smooth, hot disk glowing brightly in X-rays. As the disk forms, its central region heats up tremendously, which drives a flow of material, called a wind, away from the disk.

What if black hole hit earth

What if black hole hit earth.
Eight planets, hundreds of moons, hundreds of thousands of asteroids, and billions of comets orbiting our Sun make up our Solar System. And not once has a single black hole disturbed our planetary routine. But what if it did? what if it hit our earth, what if the earth fell into a massive black hole??? That would not be good news. But just how bad would that be? what would happen if a black hole hit earth? what happens if black hole hits earth? One of the best-known effects of a nearby black hole has the imaginative title of 'Spaghettification'. Like this, expert outlines the three gruesome scenarios in which black holes might theoretically affect human beings and the Earth itself. To know all these facts, keep watching this video.

This channel will give an explanation of the Science Facts of our Everyday Life, in the simplest way possible. So you can learn better and understand more.
