Lebron James gave a 'Wakanda' salute in memory of Chadwick Boseman at the

LeBron James offered a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman on Saturday night during the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trailblazers playoff game. During a moment of silence before the game, James struck the Wakanda Forever pose, as was portrayed by Boseman while playing King T'Challa in Marvel's Black Panther. Boseman died at the age of 43 on Friday, after a private four-year battle with colon cancer. The team stood under banners that also commemorated the recent deaths of former Trailblazer Clifford Robinson and Basketball Hall of Fame coach for the University of Arizona Lute Olson. In comments to the press after the game, James called Boseman a superhero and likened the news of his sudden death to that of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in February with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna. It actually felt like we had our black superhero and nobody could touch us, James said of Boseman. To lose that, it's sad in our community. To lose Black Panther and Black Mamba in the same year, 2020 is the sh--tiest year, James said. The Wakanda pose has made several appearances across the sports world over the weekend, including by Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and F1's Lewis Hamilton. In the days after Boseman's death, fellow actors, celebrities, and even former President Barack and first lady Michelle Obama spoke out to honor the actor. The Obamas specifically pointed to Boseman's portrayal of Jackie Robinson in the 42 as a bright spot in his legacy of powerful roles that made him a hero. A Tribute To Chadwick Boseman #WakandaForever

On the 29th of August, Chadwick Boseman’s family announced the truly devastating news that the actor had passed away at his home in California at the young age of 43. Chadwick had reportedly been battling with colon cancer since 2016, where he was diagnosed with stage three of the disease. However, this year, his disease rose to stage four and his four year fight was sadly over. What was remarkable though was how Chadwick continued to fight this horrible disease privately, undergoing countless surgeries and treatment such as chemotherapy all while filming the movies we loved such as Black Panther, 21 Bridges and Da 5 Bloods. He was a true inspiration and an amazing fighter and we are completely shocked and saddened at the news of his passing.

In this video, we will try and pay tribute to an on screen legend, icon and inspiration as we look back through some of the actor’s greatest and most astounding moments. We will celebrate some of the most amazing memories he gave us and mourn in the giant, insurmountable loss. His impact on society is immeasurable and he has served as an inspiration to many. The world is certainly a darker place without him.

We hope that this is somewhat a fitting tribute to the man, although that feels like an impossible task. Together though we will mourn the loss of a true hero on screen and off of it. Wakanda forever!

What You Probably Never Knew About Chadwick Boseman

It's hard to remember that there was a time when most people didn't know the meaning of Wakanda forever! But few anticipated that Chadwick Boseman's regal performance would help to make a massive hit of Black Panther. Turns out, the real-life man was just as interesting as the king he portrayed.

Chadwick Boseman, who became one of the brightest stars of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, was an actor as believable in high-octane action scenes as he was depicting the solemn duties of a nation's leader.

While the character had been around for decades, it was Boseman's legendary performance as the King of Wakanda that made Black Panther a household name. And so it was a brutal shock to the world when news hit of his unexpected passing at the age of 43. According to a statement released by his family, Boseman died after a brave four-year fight with colon cancer.

By far his best-known movie as a lead actor, Black Panther changed the world when it premiered in 2018. With great reviews, award nominations, and over a billion dollars at the box office, the movie took superhero cinema to adventurous new heights. Within weeks of the movie's premiere, Boseman went from being a lesser-known character actor to a bona fide, worldwide cultural icon.

But Black Panther wasn't Boseman's first time playing a world-changing hero. Before he stepped into T'Challa's royal sandals, he was depicting the all-time greats of music, sports, and lawmaking.

Boseman's first starring role came in 2013, when he portrayed the legendary Jackie Robinson in the baseball biopic 42. He followed this up a year later with another biography, Get On Up, in which he brought the electric skill of singer James Brown to life. Three years later, he once again slipped effortlessly into an iconic figure's skin when he played lawyer (and later, Supreme Court Justice) Thurgood Marshall in 2017's Marshall.

Though some of his Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars might have had longer careers than Boseman before they joined the sprawling franchise, no one had more experience playing real-life heroes. Keep watching the video to see what you probably never knew about Chadwick Boseman.

Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the regal Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, has died of cancer, his representative said. He was 43.
Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side, his publicist Nicki Fioravante said on Friday.
Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said.
“From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilsons Ma Raineys Black Bottom and several more – all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honour of his career to bring King TChalla to life in Black Panther.”
Boseman had not spoken publicly about his diagnosis. It is believed he married his long-term partner, the singer Taylor Simone Ledward, earlier this year. The couple had no children.

Boseman paid tribute to Ledward in his acceptance speech at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles, where he won the trophy for outstanding actor in a motion picture. He said: “Simone, you’re with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you.”
Born in South Carolina, Boseman graduated from Howard University and had small roles in television before his first star turn in 2013. His striking portrayal of the stoic baseball star Robinson opposite Harrison Ford in 2013’s 42 drew attention in Hollywood.
Boseman died on a day that major league baseball was celebrating Jackie Robinson day.

“This is a crushing blow,” actor and director Jordan Peele said on Twitter, one of many expressing shock as the news spread across social media.
Mark Ruffalo, who starred alongside Boseman in the Marvel films, playing Hulk said it was an honour working with Boseman.

“All I have to say is the tragedies amassing this year have only been made more profound by the loss of Chadwick Boseman,” he said. “What a man, and what an immense talent. Brother, you were one of the all time greats and your greatness was only beginning. Lord love ya. Rest in power, King.”
Don Cheadle, who also starred with Boseman in the Marvel films, posted a picture of them together: “i will miss you, birthday brother. you were always light and love to me. my god ... forever and ever ...”

“This broke me,” said actor and writer Issa Rae.
His T’Challa character was first introduced to the blockbuster Marvel movies in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, and his Wakanda Forever salute reverberated around the world after the release of Black Panther two years ago. It took in more than $1.3 bn in global box office and is the only Marvel Studios film to receive a best picture Oscar nomination.
“Chadwick’s passing is absolutely devastating,” said Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and chief creative officer of Marvel, in a statement.
He took on his first producing job in last years action thriller 21 Bridges, in which he also starred, and was last seen on-screen in Spike Lees film Da 5 Bloods as the leader of a group of Black soldiers in the Vietnam War.
eman completed one last performance, in an adaptation of August Wilson’s Neflix film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The film, in which Boseman stars alongside Viola Davis, finished shooting last summer.

Even at the outset of his Hollywood career, Boseman was clear-eyed about and even sceptical of the industry in which he would become an international star.

“You don’t have the same exact experience as a black actor as you do as a white actor. You don’t have the same opportunities. That’s evident and true,” he said while promoting 42.

“The best way to put it is: How often do you see a movie about a black hero who has a love story ... he has a spirituality. He has an intellect. It’s weird to say it, but it doesn’t happen that often.”

I really don't want to believe that actor, Chadwick Boseman has pass away yesterday at the age of 43, after four-year battle with colon cancer while during his film making career.

If you all will remember him as he was the actor who play in other films like Marshall (2017), Get on Up (2014), 42 (2013), and 21 Bridges (2019). There is ONE iconic role as the superhero that he has inspired us all, and that would be King T'Challa / Black Panther in the awesome Marvel Cinematic Universe. His role as Black Panther was in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame while they are awesome, but with his solo MCU movie Black Panther is the most groundbreaking film of all time, with seven Oscars nominations and is the first superhero film to receive a Best Picture nomination and the first MCU film to win an Academy Award.

It was so tough ever since yesterday, and the day before (Last night ago) when I heard about the actor passing, as an young ages I couldn't believe it. WHY!? WHY 2020? no thanks to this years has become the worst that is dooming our world and everyone we loved. Chadwick Boseman doesn't deserve this to him. As an MCU fan, I felt sad about the actor passing that we may never have a sequel to Black Panther, or worst who gonna play Chadwick's iconic role?

I like to honor the last MCU actor, with an video that feature ME, an few of my members, and all our friends are heartbroken for Chadwick Boseman passing. With an music that I hope it's fitting for him, and he maybe be gone but his legacy will live on in our hearts and Black Panther will our favorite Marvel Superhero of all time.

The Loss Of Chadwick Boseman: His Legacy And How Does Marvel Move Forward - The John Campea Show

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT TODAY’S SHOW: HEY GUYS... I wanted to give you a heads up and some insight into the next TJCS in the morning. So here we go...

You guys know I decided not to do a video of any kind on the day Chadwick Boseman passed. I just felt there was nothing meaningful to say that everyone didn't already know or feel. The next day on our regularly scheduled Open Mic show, we talked a lot about the career of Boseman and I said that we weren't going to talk about what's next for Black Panther or anything because even though I think those are legitimate and important questions to discuss, I felt it needed at least a couple of days and we could always address those things on Monday (3 days after his passing).

So on Monday's TJCS while we'll spend most of our time reflecting on Boseman's contribution to cinema and his legacy, we will at least spend a portion of time addressing a couple of important what now? questions many are asking about. Here's why...

1) Chadwick helped bring a character to life that was an inspiration to literally hundreds of millions of people around the world and was a catalyst for cultural discourse. T'Challa isn't just another superhero. For millions of people, he is the first title hero in this modern age of comic-book movies that made them feel included. A hero that (as many have written to me to express) looked like me. T'Challa as a character broke open the floodgates in terms of the perception of what kinds of heroes can be successful. To ask how is this legacy going to be stewarded moving forward is not just acceptable to ask now, but vital.

2) To ask what do they do now is a testimony to the importance he had and the impact he made in the biggest and most beloved stories being told right now on the big screen. Boseman was no small cog in the machine. His loss shakes the foundational perception millions of fans have regarding these stories and where it can go now in his absence.

3) To be blunt, you can’t truly talk about Chadwick's legacy and what this character, T'Challa, means to people without at least addressing how that legacy will be approached moving forward.

4) To be practical, TJCS is a movie show. The reality is, if Aaron Rogers tragically passed away on Tuesday, by Friday the sports networks and football-themed shows would NEED to start discussing and asking what do the Green Bay Packers do now? because Rogers alone was just that important to that team and what their immediate future was. As a movie show, as the biggest franchise in movies, as one of the most important stars in those movies... these are questions that I feel we should talk about.

Look, I understand that there are people who feel that the topic of what happens now? isn't something anyone should talk about for a month/year/decade. I respect that, but I also disagree. And so, there will be a portion of the show Monday that we will. If you are uncomfortable with that, then with the deepest respect I suggest you don't tune in.

Anyway, I just thought it only fair to give you a heads up. See you (maybe) in the morning. #BosemanForever
