How to Develop Daily Habits
As tempting as it is to try and change more than one habit at a time to reach your goals more quickly, the opposite is true. Doing poorly with one habit will have a domino effect on the habits you’re doing well with. The house of cards will topple over and the level of discouragement you’ll feel will make it that much harder to get back on your feet.
Here’s the habit-building process that’s working for me:
Focus on building one habit per month.
Don’t give yourself a deadline: Some daily habits will be easier to build than others, and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to build the habit, as long as you build it.
Commit fully and don’t back down.
Go easy on yourself if you stumble. Instead of getting angry with yourself, use it as a learning experience. Figure out what caused you to stumble, deal with any external influences causing you problems, and try again.
Each time you hit a milestone—one week, one month, six months, etc.—reward yourself in some way. How is completely up to you.

Once you’re able to complete the habit without having to think about it, it’s time to move onto establishing your next habit.

You can change your life by changing your habits. Here are some guidepost rules regarding change:

Rule 1:
No one can change you and you can't really change anyone else. You must admit your need, stop denying your problem, and accept responsibility for changing yourself.

Rule 2:
Habits aren't broken, but replaced—by layering new behavior patterns on top of the old ones. This usually takes a least a year or two. Forget the 30-day wonder ones. I don't know where motivational speakers got the idea that it takes 21 days to gain a new habit. It may take that long to remember the motions of a new skill, but after many years of being you, it takes far longer to settle into a new habit pattern and stay there. Habits are like submarines. They run silent and deep. They also are like comfortable beds, in that they're easy to get into, but difficult to get out of. So don't expect immediate, amazing results. Give your skills training a year and stick with it, knowing that your new ways can last a lifetime.

Rule 3:
A daily routine adhered to over time will become second nature, like riding a bicycle. Negative behavior leads to a losing lifestyle, positive behavior to a wining lifestyle. Practice makes permanent in both cases.

Tony Robbins: How to Break a Bad Habit ( Tony Robbins Law of Attraction )

Bad habits interrupt your life and prevent you from accomplishing your goals. They jeopardize your health — both mentally and physically. And they waste your time and energy.

So why do we still do them? And most importantly, is there anything you can do about it?

I've previously written about the science of how habits start, so now let's focus on the practice of making changes in the real world. How can you delete your bad behaviors and stick to good ones instead?

I certainly don't have all of the answers, but keep reading and I'll share what I've learned about how to break a bad habit.

What causes bad habits?
Most of your bad habits are caused by two things…

Stress and boredom.

Most of the time, bad habits are simply a way of dealing with stress and boredom. Everything from biting your nails to overspending on a shopping spree to drinking every weekend to wasting time on the internet can be a simple response to stress and boredom.

But it doesn't have to be that way. You can teach yourself new and healthy ways to deal with stress and boredom, which you can then substitute in place of your bad habits.

Of course, sometimes the stress or boredom that is on the surface is actually caused by deeper issues. These issues can be tough to think about, but if you're serious about making changes then you have to be honest with yourself.

Are there certain beliefs or reasons that are behind the bad habit? Is there something deeper — a fear, an event, or a limiting belief — that is causing you to hold on to something that is bad for you?

Recognizing the causes of your bad habits is crucial to overcoming them.

When we fail at habits repeatedly, we lose trust in ourselves, don’t believe in our ability to stick to something, feel guilty and sometimes disgusted with ourselves.

This is a bad state of affairs for our future habits.

When we start a new habit, if we don’t really believe in our ability to stick to it, we’re less likely to succeed. We’ll doubt ourselves when things get a little harder. When we feel like quitting, part of our minds will say, “Ah, I knew this would happen. This just confirms what I thought about you, you loser.” And then we quit, instead of sticking it out and beating the quitting feeling.

Well, that’s not good. What’s better, though?

If you trust yourself to stick to a habit, you feel confident in your ability to get through tough times. You know that even if you get the feeling of quitting, you can beat it. Or if you fail, you know you can start again, get back up and learn from the mistake and try harder.

Approximately 4 million people have attended his live seminars. Tony Robbins is the founder of several companies which earn approximately $5 billion in annual sales. In 2015 and 2016 he was listed on the Worth Magazine Power 100 list.Tony Robbins is also an active philanthropist, partnering with organizations such as Feeding America.
Robbins was born Anthony J. Mahavoric in North Hollywood, California, on February 29, 1960. His surname was originally spelled 'Mohorović' and is of Croatian origin. Tony Robbins is the eldest of three children and his parents divorced when he was 7. His mother then had a series of husbands, including Jim Robbins, a former semiprofessional baseball player who legally adopted Anthony when he was 12.

The challenge in succeeding in business and establishing a successful mindset is finding out what your highest calling in life is. Do you feel like you’re working every day just to chase a paycheck, or do you feel like you’re making progress toward pursuing your passion? If it’s the former, it’s time to switch career paths. What’s the point in working toward someone else’s dream? Find a way to pursue your own.

Does this sound impossible? Oftentimes the things that scare us do sound impossible, but they’re not. Reframe your mindset — what can you achieve and what have you put off achieving because you thought it was impossible? “Impossible is not a fact, it’s an opinion,” says Tony Robbins.

Psychology and business go hand in hand. If you mentally believe you have the skills and resources you need to succeed, you will. Twenty percent of business success is the mechanics of the operation. The other 80%? The psychology, or mindset, you bring to the company.

If you have the right psychology, you can find the resources and develop the skills you need to transform your professional success. The first step in developing a success mindset is tweaking your strategy. Who is someone you admire in your field? Why? What are they doing differently and how can you apply this to your operations? Once you’ve identified the optimal way to act in order to achieve your goals, then you have a strategy in place.

Next, it’s time to change your story. What negative or untrue things have you been telling yourself? Do you believe you’re unskilled or lacking resources? Challenge yourself to examine if this is true or not. When you are able to see the truth and understand that you are capable of whatever you tell yourself, you can change your story. And when you change your story, you change your life.

Lastly, find a way to put yourself in an ideal state. You have good and bad tendencies. But what creates a magnificent life? Learn to balance these qualities, both positive and negative, to achieve your optimal state. Whatever is right for you is the state you should strive for.
