Understanding COVID-19

Professor Peter Openshaw, from Imperial College London’s National Heart and Lung Institute, who is an Honorary Physician at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, is one of three researchers leading Europe’s largest study analysing samples from COVID-19 patients to learn more about the disease and how it progresses. At the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust seminar, Professor Openshaw talks about the study and preliminary findings that confirm that high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, obesity and chronic lung disease are risk factors that can lead to severe cases of COVID-19.
