Can humans hibernate? Many animals do that, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work with us humans. But what if we could hibernate? So imagine that everyone in the world has decided to skip the next 10 centuries. The entire population of Earth goes down to specially built underground bunkers, and everyone settles into their comfortable beds. The last person awake sets the alarm clock for 1,000 years in the future and closes their eyes.

The millions of robot helpers which the people say good night to are going to stick close to their sleeping masters. They’ll monitor their condition and observe what happens to our planet. So the people don’t leave anyone behind to look after our civilization. Their homes and offices and all of the world’s cities are handed over to nature...

That's What Will Happen to Earth and Us In 1,000 Years

Bright Side found out whether our future is doomed or bright – here is a list of the most exciting predictions for a new millennium. You could expect super-fast computers, but a house that you can disassemble and put together in a minute? Wow.

One year ago in his speech at the Oxford University Union, the legendary Stephen Hawking proclaimed that humanity can only survive for another 1,000 years. We wanted to know whether our future is doomed or bright, and so we compiled the most exciting predictions for a new millennium.

TIMESTAMPS
Humans will live for 1,000 years 1:07
We'll be able to transfer our minds to different bodies 2:01
Humans will move to another planet 3:11
We will all look the same 4:35
There will be super-fast intelligent computers 6:11
Humans will become cyborgs 7:05
We will all speak the same global language 8:55
Buildings will assemble and disassemble on command 10:12
Nanotechnology will solve the energy and pollution crisis 11:41

SUMMARY
- In 1,000 years, medical engineers could design remedies for each component that causes tissues to age. Gene editing tools are already here, which could potentially control our genes and make humans immune to a disease.
- In 1,000 years from now, the only way for humanity to survive might be to establish new settlements in space.
- Humans will develop a larger forehead, larger nostrils, larger eyes, and more pigmented skin.
- In 1,000 years from now, computers are predicted to match and overtake the computational speed of the human brain and solve tasks that take a normal computer a decade to solve.
- In 1,000 years from now, merging with technology might be the only way for humanity to compete with Artificial Intelligence.
- Linguists predict that 100 years from now 90% of languages will disappear due to migration, and those that remain will become simplified.
- In the future, humans are likely to be able to create a virtual world around them, using the concept of utility fog.
- 1,000 years from now, nanotechnology will be able to clean up environmental damage, purify water and air, and capture the energy of the Sun.

What If You Were the Last Person on Earth

Imagine you woke up one day to find that you were the only person left on Earth. How would you feel? On the one hand, you could do everything that you want! You've got a whole world of opportunities and nothing to stop you from enjoying each and every one of them! On the other hand, how you’re gonna survive in this empty kingdom of yours?

SUMMARY:
- After all that fun and utter joy is out of your system, you start asking yourself “what’s next?” Well, maybe it’s time to try and figure out what really happened and why everyone just disappeared?
- The first thing you need to figure out is food and drinking water. Sure, you’ll have as much as you need for a while, but some products will start to spoil pretty quickly, like fruits and veggies.
- With no electricity to keep the fridges and freezers going, rice, beans, and canned foods are gonna be your best friends. After a while, you’ll probably need to learn how to grow food yourself.
- Medical supplies are also super important. You need to hit up as many pharmacies as you can for future supplies in case of an emergency.
- Farming and DIY water-filtration aren’t the only things you need to learn. In a world where you’re the last human on earth, you’ll need to learn crucial survival skills, like hunting, first aid, cooking, and so on.
- In a decade or so, all these buildings will become quite unsafe without regular maintenance to keep them up.
- Perhaps you’ll move away from the city? The good news is you can go anywhere you want. There are no borders, migration laws, passports, or anything stopping you!
- Make sure you have garments for every season and plenty of warm clothes and blankets.
- . You can learn to paint, make pottery, try your hand at sculpture, or even write your own story!

What If The Sun Went Out for Just One Day

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the Sun just suddenly stopped shining? The first thing that probably comes to your mind is that it would get a whole lot darker and colder. True, but that doesn’t even begin to describe what kind of catastrophic event it would be because eventually humankind would meet its eminent demise.
In the first few minutes after the Sun stops burning, life goes on as usual here on Earth because the sunlight itself is still traveling towards the planet. But after 8½ minutes, the skies go black, as if someone just flipped a switch. After an hour, once everybody has realized the situation they’re in, panic ensues on the side of the planet where it's supposed to be daytime. The temperature across the globe drops by several degrees and just keeps going down. One of the worst things is that photosynthesis stops within 24 hours.
Within a week or so, the average temperature on the planet falls below zero. Most plants have already perished due to the cold, and heat-loving animals start to disappear shortly after. People build shelters and try to survive the cold and lack of food. They might be more successful in areas with a lot of geothermal activity, such as Iceland.
After just one year, the planet might host some types of bacteria that can survive even in unbelievably low temperatures. But other life forms on the surface have been wiped away.
Just remember, though, this scenario was just a hypothetical “what if?”. As for the real future of the Earth, it’ll stay firmly “tied” to the Sun.

A week after the Sun went out 4:14
A year after the Sun went out 5:36
What happens to planet Earth itself? 6:26
The real future of the Earth 8:35

SUMMARY
Summary:
-8½ minutes after the Sun stopped burning, the whole entire planet would be plunged into darkness. You wouldn’t see the Moon either since there’d be no sunlight for it to reflect.
-An hour after the Sun went out, people would start to fall into the depths of depression. The temperature across the globe would drop by several degrees and keep going down.
-If the Sun didn’t return after one day, the planet would fall in utter chaos. Every living creature on Earth would start having difficulties due to the diminishing oxygen.
-A week after the Sun went out, the temperature all over the world would drop below zero. Most plants would have already perished due to the cold, and heat-loving animals would start to disappear shortly after. People would build shelters and try to survive the cold and lack of food.
-After a year without the Sun, the surface of the Earth would become as cold as 100° below zero. The top layers of the seas and oceans would have frozen over by this time, the only survivors among people (if any) would be on the ocean floor, near geothermal vents. There would be no life on the planet.
-If the Sun stopped burning, its gravitational pull would vanish, and the Earth would fly away into outer space at the same speed. After 43,000 years, the Earth would near Alpha Centauri, the closest star to us.
-As for the real future of the Earth, it’ll stay firmly “tied” to the Sun that will increase in size in several billion years. Hopefully by that time humanity will have found ways to explore and colonize other planets orbiting younger stars.

What Happens If Everyone Falls Asleep at the Same Time?

Everybody loves a good sleep, but we probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if we had no control over when it happened. Imagine falling into a deep sleep during a first date, in the middle of an important presentation, or Odin forbid, behind the wheel of a car.

Now imagine waking up and realizing that the same uncontrollable bouts of slumber are also happening to everyone else... at the same time... all over the world. How would our world change if we were all forced into the same sleep schedule?

What If Everyone Slept For 1,000 Years

What will Happen If Every Human Sleeps or Freeze For 1000 Years ? All You need to know [ In Hindi ]

Cryosleep, a process in which an astronaut is put into a state of suspended animation using a drug or a chamber or something very cold, is a common sci fi trope. It's one of the main plot points in 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's how the wormhole-traversing astronauts manage to not age in Interstellar.

So what will Happen If Every Human Cryosleep Or Cryofreeze for 1000 years ?
Let's Explore

That's What'll Happen to the Earth In 1,000,000,000 Years

What will happen to humankind in 1 billion years? People have always dreamed of sneaking a peek into the future. Let's have a look at the future!

Humankind has always dreamed of sneaking a peek into the future. Sci-fi writers of the past, with their rich imaginations, described technologies that we actually have nowadays! So, could it be that everything you see in futuristic movies today will come true in a few centuries? Most likely! But what if we wonder about a more distant future, say, 1 billion years from now?

SUMMARY:
- Earth will be struck by a gigantic asteroid 3,280 feet in diameter about 500,000 years from now. The crater from this asteroid will be no smaller than 250 miles across.
- If anybody’s still living on Earth in 1,000,000 years, they’ll have to face a huge threat around this time. A supervolcano will go off, covering an area of 720 cubic miles with expelled magma.
- As 2 million years pass, the Grand Canyon has slowly been deteriorating, turning into a valley rather than a huge canyon. Actually, the planet looks completely different on the whole.
- Mars will collide with Phobos, its own moon, 50 million years from today, and this will cause some pretty serious damage to the red planet.
- Another million years later, our planet will be hit with a lethal burst of radiation. This will be the result of a distant star about 6,500 light years away from Earth dying and exploding into a supernova.
- Another problem will be the ever-increasing luminosity and power of the Sun. It’ll cause the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere to drop down to such levels that photosynthesis won't be possible anymore.
- 1 billion years from now, the force of the Sun will increase by 10%. The temperature on the surface of the planet will rise to an average of 117°F.

What Humans Will Look Like In 1,000 Years

There will eventually be a day where prosthetics are no longer just for the disabled. However, it’s not just our outside appearance that will change – our genes will also evolve on microscopic levels to aid our survival.

For example, an Oxford-led study discovered a group of HIV-infected children in South Africa living healthy lives. It turns out, they have a built-in defense against HIV that prevents the virus from advancing to AIDS.

And with gene-editing tools like CRISPR, we may eventually control our genes and DNA to the point where we make ourselves immune to disease and even reverse the effects of aging.

Another way to jump-start the human evolution on a different path is to move some of us to Mars. Mars receives 66% less sunlight than Earth. Which could mean humans on Mars will evolve larger pupils that can absorb more light in order to see. And since Mars’ gravitational pull is only 38% of Earth’s, people born on Mars might actually be taller than anyone on Earth. In space, the fluid that separates our vertebrae expands, which led American aerospace engineer, Robert Zubrin to suggest that Mars’ low gravity could allow the human spine to elongate enough to add a few extra inches to our height.

However, not even a move to Mars could spark the biggest change in human evolution that we may have coming in the next 1,000 years: immortality. The path to immortality will likely require humans to download their consciousness into a machine. Right now, scientists in Italy and China are performing head transplants on animals to determine if you can transfer consciousness from one body to another. They claim their next big step is to transplant human heads.

Whatever happens in the next 1,000 years — whether we merge with machines or become them — one thing is certain: The human race is always changing — and the faster we change and branch out from Earth, the better chance we have of outrunning extinction.

Can Freezing Your Body Make You Live Forever?

It seems to be the stuff of science fiction, but have you ever wondered what would really happen if someone was frozen for a hundred years and then thawed out? Mankind has existed for over two and a half million years, and many things have happened during this time and every one of them keeps on raising questions. Today we’ll answer this question, along with a few others you didn’t even know you had, like what would happen if the sun switched off? Or what do astronauts feel when they come back down to earth? Well today we’ll tell you everything!

Can Freezing Your Body Make You Live Forever?

What If Everyone Slept or Freeze For 1000 Year And Then Woke Up | Probability Comparison

Rise and shine! You’ve been asleep for 1,000 years! And the view outside is not how you remembered it. Rising temperatures, rising sea levels, declining air quality, more extreme weather, more animal extinctions, more diseases. These are just a few of the consequences we can expect if we continue to pollute the Earth.

And our time to act is quickly running out. So what can we do if we want to save our planet, and fast? Strangely enough, the best thing to do might be nothing. Not “sit back and watch the world burn” nothing. But everyone going to sleep and doing nothing for 1,000 years, while the world repairs itself from all the damage we’ve done.

We can pretty much guarantee that Earth will be better off. But can we guarantee that you’ll wake up? Sweet dreams.

There are almost 300 cryogenically frozen individuals in the United States, and 50 in Russia. And yet, no one has ever been revived from cryosleep. The hope is that the technology to wake people up from cryosleep will be available sometime in the near future.

Existing cryopreservation techniques can even preserve the fine structure of the brain. However, we can’t unfreeze a brain and make it work again – yet. But suppose we perfected the process, and made it possible to cryogenically preserve our world’s population of 8 billion people.

Where would we put everybody? The most practical setup would be to have cryosleep chambers in big facilities around the world. This would make it easier to respond to any technical difficulties that might arise, while also protecting people from the inevitable decay of our infrastructure.

The idea behind cryonics is that humans can be preserved at super low temperatures, and later be restored to full health. Support for cryonics is based on the fact that many living things, including human embryos, can be successfully cryopreserved and revived.
